Blood in the water

No, No. We won’t leave the Inlet
Addison released the shaking breath from her lungs, her adrenaline suddenly deflating at those words, her body feeling weak even though they’d barely moved. She gulped clean air back into her lungs, surprised at herself for the sudden crippling fear. She wasn’t use to feeling like that. She had felt fear before of course but not like this, not to where it physically incapacitated her.

Her breathing almost back to normal she felt a little lost right now, what else could the universe throw at her. Actually, no she didn’t want to know what else could happen.
Realizing she had effectively spaced out on Aug, she once more felt the need to apologies. About her spacing out? Freaking out over water? Something else entirely? She wasn’t sure, maybe even all the above I’m sorry she said quietly, feeling even more useless now, just another thing to add to the ever growing list of things she couldn’t do. That list was getting longer by the second.

Letting out a sigh she take a small step forward, continuing to follow Aug, calmer now she knew she wouldn’t have to leave the inlet, while her mind tries to work out why she had reacted so badly to that single thought. She had been in the ocean before, although she’d been in a bad way and probably in too much pain to actually think what she was doing.
