"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to

and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Dior would have been content to ignore the whole lot of bachelors that lurked within the Lagoon. However, it seemed not all of them wanted to do the same. The thick scent of salt dominated her sense of smell while the waves had captured the bulk of her hearing. There was only a flurry of movement and the sound of splashing to warn the dunalino of his coming. 'Don't tell me you plan to drown the child before he even has a chance to stand?'

Dior didn't need to look to know it was Garmr, but she did anyway. With a half-turn of her profile, the bright azure of her gaze swept upward to see the sabino-frothed bulk of his forehand. 'And I am the one called monster.' Caramel ears tipped backward in tell-tale annoyance. "Of course not," the dunalino huffed incredulously. It came out a hair snippier than intended; hormones be damned. She couldn't tell if he was joking or really thought she would do such a thing. If she was honest, Dior didn't care either way. Garmr could say whatever he liked. He could keep her here, but nothing was going to happen to this baby.

With a relenting breath, the paint turned to lower her gaze again. It was an awkward position to look at him from, and the mare had no intention of tweaking her neck for his sake. The surface thoughts milling in her brain latch onto Garmr's assumption the babe was a boy. A few heartbeats pass before Dior allows her curiosity to draw her out again. "What makes you think it's a boy," she wondered aloud. Perhaps it was the sheer size to which her belly ballooned. Or maybe he tended to have sons; this was an avenue of thought Dior didn't let herself linger on.
