Jai Alai Hall of Fame Posted on October 13, 2025 at 08:43:02 AM by Big Fan
Giving credit to Jesus, who posted this on facebook: Its an interesting subject.
Its shocking that a sport with its history doesnt have a Hall of Fame, whether it would be located here or in the Basque country. Here is Jesus list of 30 frontcourters and 25 backcourters that would be entered immediately:
FRONTS:
Alberdi
Aramayo II
Arra I
Arregui
Arriaga (Dania)
Arrieta
Asis
Bengoa
Benny
Bolivar
Cachin (Uriarte)
Diego
Echeva
Egi
Elorrio
Goiko
Inclan
Jabi
Jesus
Joey
Kent
Mark
Mendi I
Michelena
Orbea
Rekalde
Remen
Solozabal (Dania)
Tevin
Zulaica I
BACKS:
Atain
Bonniguen
Chimela
Churruca
Daniel
Elgueta
Elizegui
Elorduy
Elorza
Enbil
Felix
Gorrono
Hernandez (Duke)
Irastorza
Irigo
J Arriaga
James
Javier
Laca II
Marshall
Mendi II
Soroa
Wayne
Zarria
Zulaica II
Note that a player must be retired before entry...the reason why Lopez is missing from the list.
A rebuttal facebook post correctly mentioned the glaring omissions of Rufino, Arra II, Juaristi, Ondarres and Egurbi. Larrinaga is missing and historians, going way back, consider him one of the best backcourters in the sports history.
Names listed of very good players that I do not believe are Hall of Famers...Arregui...Arrieta...Tevin....Elgueta...Irigo....J Arriaga.
If you want to include Arrieta for his contributions to the sport off the court, then Danny, who played in 4 different decades, should be considered.
