GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
whispers in the tall grass

The borderlands were an easy, rolling hill-country, littered with little brooks and scattered woods. It made for a pleasant walk for the Prairie lead. Warmth spread through his limbs as the stallion walked, settling into a comfortable, rhythmic stride. Lir found that patrolling the borders soothed his racing mind as, too often, the dunskin was plagued with worrisome thoughts of invaders creeping through the wide grassland at night. No invaders did he find on today's border run, only the silver-haired August.

Fortunately, the newcomer had seemed to be doing a good job of staying out of trouble through this first year of his residency. And, with the unexpected drama lately, the male's good behavior was something Lir could be thankful for. As such, the paint had intended to do little more than a courteous nod of his head when walking by the resting male. That changed when the scent of blood entered his nose. It wasn't a heavy smell. No, but its presence alone was a concern.

Lir huffed a breath through his nose. The pale skin of his nostrils vibrated, producing a low thrum. He slowed. Casually, the paint slowed to stop near by the other stallion. It was then that his hazel eyes glanced over the fairly fresh scrape at the bay's jaw. A small wound, nothing to worry over. Yet, Lir couldn't help but wondered how it occurred. "August," he answered with a tip of his head. "All's well, I trust?"
