He knew that his posturing wasn’t fooling anyone and he almost felt embarrassed from the half smile across her lips. Well at least he managed to make her smile, that could only be a good thing. Slowly he lowered his head and tail to a more neutral and comfortable position. Patiently he listened to her response. His brow furrowed in concern by her tone, she was hesitant to accept his offer and she seemed tired. He really didn’t want to leave her out here by herself but if she didn’t want to accompany him back to Tinuvel he couldn’t force her to go. The choice had to be hers.
“Nicodemus is a kind stallion that has offered a home to many that have needed one,” he smiled at her in an attempt to reassure her.
“Besides, do you think you caused any problems for Asmo? If the answer is no; then why do you think you would cause any for us at the Inlet?” If he was honest most herd stallions had bigger problems to worry about than a small mare with a big mouth, but he wasn’t going to say that out aloud now and potentially upset her.
