I don't really think you're the Ron Eric I knew...because thatys the kind of shit Ulinek pulls. But if you have good wishes for my recovery, you'll be happy to know that I was finally ready after I got away from AA, heard about Naltrexone that instantly gets rid of cravings, and discovered once I broke the habit of drinking every day years ago in less than a month, I dont have the addiction and dont need the Naltrexone. I told that to my AA group that I'd kicked the habit, and the Big Book thumpers trashed me. They're all still addicted people, virtually all of em can't get through a meeting without going outside to smoke. It's sad. But I learned that drug treatments progressed a long ways since the AA book was published in 1934. Thats why I left, calling it a cult. I did learn that most people who go to AA quit going, leaving the regulars drinking coffee and repeating their sad tale twice or 3 times a week for the rest of their lives, counting the days they've resisted the drink.
I"ve decided the best way to cure alcoholism is see a legit addiction specialist who can prescribe meds, get good therapy, and quit hanging around with alcoholics who really want to self-medicate to cover up their REAL problems!
The AA addicts would apparently rather fellowship with the cult than get that monkey off their backs once and for all. Too bad, so sad. Replies:
