Hey kid - I have plenty of things going on in my life and lots of things to keep me busy. I just come to this site once in a while to make myself feel better about the men I worked with instead of the whining babies that apparently have infiltrated the job.
Maybe you need a history lesson: without us having been on strike you would still be without a contract to protect you; you would be subject to an immediate transfer to the other side of the city or carry your boots to a different house every work day simply because you looked at some boss sideways; you would be running with 4-man companies that on many days were taken down to three; no bonus pay for any extra certs or training; a promotion process that had only the favorite sons and chief's kids getting high scores; officers being forced to change/rotate shifts on a regular basis so "they didn't get too familiar with their firefighters"; etc.
You got a cause to carry a cross for, like Tier 2 improvements - then go ahead and do what you need to do, just as we did. Tier 2 is governed by state law - so I assume you have gotten involved and made several trips to Springfield to lobby your state senator and state rep - right? I assume you have gotten politically active to try to make changes occur - right? I assume you have run for the EB -right? I assume you have attempted to organize Local 2 membership to take action, no matter what the personal cost - right? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Do what you will (which I am betting is nothing more than being a keyboard warrior on this site). Just don't knock the past generation who went on strike and got you what you enjoy today. And stop trying to blame your lesser pension situation on us.
