TEFNUT mare | 16.1hh | red dun | dunes primal
Still quiet, still watching, Tefnut takes in what is spoken around her. Her tongue was tied, her skin was hot, and her brain was short circuiting. She didn’t have any foot hold anymore, but she just forced herself through it as she turned her head and gave Rethe a smile. It did not fully reach her eyes, but her body turned when Caine’s did. She had to move now or be left behind on their run, but it was hard to do this when she hadn't even been able to tell Rethe where they were going. Sighing deeply, she turned once more to the dark mare as Caine ran off ahead of them.
“My home is in Salem… if the direction he is running did not specify enough. If you don’t wish to stay once you make it to the Dunes… I will fully understand your decision and not make you stay.” As her smile turns more brittle, she turns away with a flick of her tail and her hooves moving. She stayed slow enough to let Rethe catch up, but once the other mare made her choice to follow or stay, Tefnut broke out into a full sprint. Her red mane and tail flew in the wind behind her as she galloped, taking in the wind and soft ground under her hooves as a lifeline.
Once they all made it to the Dunes, or those that were willing to travel, Tefnut looked over all of the heads. One ear flicked back, making sure to listen to the territory behind them before she shifted her weight, forcing herself to stand tall and like a leader. She didn’t want anything to come sour, but if Caine’s scent was not washed off enough, her father would come striding their direction with weapons aimed and fire in his eyes. “Welcome to my home… I hope the Dunes and its leader are okay?” As her voice wobbled, unease coiled in her gut. She should have something better to say, but it was easy to tell that Tefnut was worried about something, someone, and the one straggler that should not be in the group.
