GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
whispers in the tall grass

'Time healed all things.' That was the old adage, was it not? Lir considered this thought humorlessly as the focus of his gaze swept across the rolling plain of the Prairie. When his little sister was stolen away, the days marched on. Wildflowers still popped up the spring following Zevulun's departure from the islands. The family of jay birds he'd watched for years expanded and changed, even as Lir sired his own, precious few children. Their foalhoods were passing him by in blinks, floating by faster than Lir could bear. Time ebbed and flowed in the Prairie, changing much and nothing all at once. It vexed the sable male to no end.

It is with the thought of children in mind that advises the Prairie lead to center himself with a deep upon spying a trio of racing forms. They were colored vividly, but, if he guessed right, not yet full-grown. In all likeliness, they came from a nearby territory. Lir chided himself for being so uninformed with the news on Luthien. The sable dunskin had heard tale here and there from wanderers of Zira's absence in the south. Despite the current bad blood between them, it grieved the paint to think that something might have happened to the long-standing Savanna queen. These youths could belong to the new lead there or indeed from the Forest. Lir knows next to nothing about Baba Yaga and her ilk, only that they have not caused the Prairie any trouble.

The stallion loosed a high whistle to catch their attention and then cantered in a wide arc to meet them, aiming to head the trio off before they wandered further in unchecked.
