Memories Can Be So Fleeting Posted on January 22, 2026 at 07:37:41 AM by Teagan and Ash
Teagan was standing over her sleeping son, the colt had gotten bigger already, now almost 2 months old. She had kept close to Lucifer, encouraging him to interact more with their son, she still remembered how cautious he had been to touch Ash when he was just born, the thought made her smile. Others might call him a monster, he called himself a demon at times but she saw what others didn’t, even what he himself might not see.
He could be gentle, caring and he protected those in his herd with everything he had. She had no doubt he would protect his children with ruthless abandon if the situation called for it.
She was quietly resting but not asleep when she heard him call, her head lifting as she looked up at where he stood, his silent invitation met with a smile as she moved from where their son was sleeping to his side, greeting him with a soft touch of her muzzle to his neck, a soft humm in response to his first words as she waited patiently for him to ask his question. What he asked though was the furthest thing from what she had expected.
Her eyes widened, stilling for a few heartbeats before a smile crossed her face, he had shocked her for sure but she knew her heart belonged to him, she might not be able to remember her past, but she was certain where her future was. I would be honoured to be your lead mare she said before brushing her muzzle up against his jaw. Feeling content with Lucifer and their son.
Ash had been asleep for a while as his mother had stood guard over him, so he felt her move, stirring him from a sleep he was already beginning to rouse from. Lifting his head he saw she hadn’t gone far, stretching before slowly getting to his feet with a yawn. Arching his neck he stretched again before shaking the dust from his coat. He was a strong, confident colt who love to play fight, like most boys did.
Bounding up to his parents he jumped towards his father, dwarfed by his size but that didn’t bother Ash, instead he tugged on a piece of his mane playful dad, come play he said before bouncing a few steps away, turning to look expectantly at his father.
Teagan couldn’t help but chuckle before nodding encouragingly at Lucifer, knowing that he still worried about accidently hurting their child due to his size and strength. She nudged Lucifer’s shoulder with her own as she took a step forward, hoping her presence would give him a bit of confidents to play with Ash, as she reach forward lightly tugging on the foal’s short mane.
Ash knew mum would play but getting dad to play was a bit harder, still he’d continue to play. As his mother playfully tugged his mane he span towards her, rearing and attempting to bite her neck. Teagan allowed him to, as her eyes glanced once more to herblack demon with a smile. She knew as Ash grew she’d been less likely to be able to continue this kind of rough housing play as he’d easily end up too big for her to continue playing his rough games.
