Pain.
Bone crushing pain erupted in a body of light colors. Eyes of a pale hue hold excruciating agony, begging the world to take it all away. Sweat dampened her skin, forcing darker coloration to show. It all hurt, but the mare named Kai never once cried out during the process of child birth.
Time had slipped by during the hard hours of labor. It turned into a churning mass of nothing more than slipped space and pain. It left the pale mare panting and on her side for a while. The goal wasn't even try yet, but she couldn't stand just yet. It took even longer from that time she realized she was laying still to when she rose from the wet ground and turned to face the startling creature she had harbored in her womb for so long.
Lashing her pale tail, Kai lowered her head and began the grooming process. She didn't like any of this, but she pushed through it anyways. Nothing stopped her from cleaning the young colt or helping him get up and nurse from her swollen teats. It was painful at first, but as the colostrum managed to be drank and the pain ebbed, the mare let out a deep sigh of relief.
After more time, Kai softly nudged her colt and took painful steps away from the bloody and amniotic liquid infested place. The scent trailed behind her, but Kai didn't pause until she was closer to a herd she had been silently residing around for a few years now. Her pale ears twitched as the cool spring air touched them, bringing the sound of a voice she knew. Heaving a content breath, Kai gave a low call to Pyre. She hadn't met any of the herd yet, but that was okay. For now, she wanted to show the woman who had helped her so long ago the gorgeous colt she had managed to birth.
