GUIDELINES
common sense, really
i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
whispers in the tall grass

Lir had been disconsolate of late. Not that that was saying much. He had not left the Prairie in many moons. Plagued by disconcerting dreams of dark strangers coming in the night and taking mars and foals with them, Lir had focused all his attention on keeping them safe. Finding an intruder's scent in the hills over the last few months had unnerved him, not more so than being unable to find the culprit. No one was missing or hurt, but how long would that statement remain true?

The dunskin had been focused on this thought when the sounds of an approach drew him up short. Turning to find August coming up behind him, the Prairie lead snorted and nodded both greeting and agreement to the male. Lir had come to appreciate August's presence, despite their lack of blood or friendship. The silver bay had seemed to stick to his word about not causing trouble for him thus far. Despite this, his gut told him to listen carefully to the bay now. Hazel eyes glanced toward August then, and Lir set their pace at a walk. They could talk and still head toward the border for the nightly rounds. "What's on your mind, August," Lir asked neutrally.
