Rules � The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders. � Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission. � All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say. � Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met. � You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page. � Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Briseis
so everything she wants will come to her

There is a commotion behind her in the marsh, and for a moment Briseis thinks it is the wild cat closing in, and she draws in a great breath, bracing herself for claws and teeth. But there is now sharp pain lancing through her, and instead, it is the predator that is now in danger. A fresh wave of fear surges through her, but not for herself, and not for her mother and baby sibling, because it is not Clio that dragged the cat from the lagoon.

"Tattoo!" Briseis cries out, even as she struggles to pull herself to stable ground. And there she stands, dripping, shaking like a leaf, wide-eyed, feeling ever so helpless as the black and white stallion faces the beast down.

"Y-You saved me," she manages to utter the words, breathless. Her throat feels tight, and there�s an odd sensation, like her heart has lodged itself there, thrumming like the wings of a bird. Briseis keeps well behind him, moving so that he remains between herself and the creature that hunted her.

The air is heavy with the scent of blood, and the sight of Tattoo�s injuries, now that she has drawn nearer, fill her with dread, and a different sort of fear. "But you�re hurt," Briseis almost sobs, her emotions all tangled, adrenalin still ebbing. She reaches her pale muzzle toward him, but is almost afraid to touch him, because the air is still so tense, and she doesn�t want to cause him further discomfort.

That the cat is still alive, having been mortally wounded, only adds to her distress. She didn�t wish to linger here, but neither did she want to leave Tattoo behind, or navigate her way alone and injured. "Please, please just finish it," the filly begs, her voice hitching in her chest. "And then we can go south, to where the sea flows into the Lagoon." To rinse the marsh water and blood away.

Tentatively, seeking to soothe the wildness she senses in him, and perhaps to seek comfort in a moment of physical touch amidst the frantic chaos she�d found herself in the midst of, Briseis reaches for him again, and brushes her damp, velvet muzzle over Tattoo�s hide, where she finds a patch of white that is not smeared red.
