So great to hear from the ghost of the great Neil Peart!
I’ve seen you and the boys in concert close to a dozen times, and while at first I thought no one could ever replace you—which is probably true—I give a lot of credit to Geddy and Alex for bringing the beautiful music you helped create back to the fans.
Your lyrical genius and unmatched drumming ability were a huge part of the reason the band reached the heights that it did. I love both Geddy’s and Alex’s solo albums, My Favorite Headache and Victor, but I think there will always be a huge piece missing in your absence.
And to be totally honest with you, Neil, your lyrics in every song of every album resonate with every part of my life. Thank you for creating lyrics that I could truly relate to.
Annika is awesome, and I love what she’s done in the past, but this is a new era for Rush. Being an old-school guy, I’d rather remember the great memories of those Rush concerts in the ’80s and ’90s, every influential lyric you ever wrote, and just move on.
Not to mention, the boys are extorting us for $500 a ticket—which I can’t afford!
