Tefnut
And the gasoline of my soul will come alive.
Fall… It was a nasty thing.
As horses across the islands began to feel as if their womb was ready to hold a child, one mare did not. Her ears twitched upon her head and listened to the sounds of her sister growing testy. She could hear Apex hiding himself away in the land to avoid Rethe and Aadrika. Tefnut was not sure if Rethe would feel the same as others this time of year, but she found herself… lucky.
Instead of having the urge to procreate, Tefnut found herself just wanting to protect. Due to something having broken in her womb from her time in utero, the mare knew she would never be able to have children. In most cases it would bring them to their knees knowing that fact, but Tefnut did not bother to worry about that one bit. Instead, she just smiled and continued on her way. Her scent would never change and neither would her mind. She was okay without having any offspring. It just meant that when she gave up her position here in the Bay to an heir, it would not be of her blood.
Trotting along the beach with the sun warming her back, Tefnut just grinned to herself. Her home was currently safe, but that would not always be the case. With Apex and Rethe here as just normal members, she had to watch over them closer. With Aadrika being a co-lead, she was not as worried. However, if it came down to it and someone going for Rethe… Tefnut would be calling in someone stronger than her. Lucifer had once said only to call on him if it came to something important and with the knowledge she could not win. She hoped that would never happen, but life was not always meant to be easy.
Lowering her head just a touch as she moved, Tefnut sniffed the ocean water washed rocks before lifting her head again and humming a tune. This was her morning routine. It let her find anyone washed ashore but it also kept her scent markers strong. With only Aadrika here to help her, Tefnut found herself doing a lot of the physical alone. It was okay of course considering she did not have to be political… but sometimes she found herself lowkey searching for Rethe out in the distance. Maybe today would be a day she found the mare, maybe it wouldn't. Lord only knew what Tefnut would find this first day of Fall.
