Inlet

The rain slows until the night sky clears the clouds away. Only what water was left on the leaves and the trees drip down to the ground. His focus was on Dreamer as she makes a comment about where his other herd leaders were. He watches her curiously and a bit surprised. He didn't know she cared enough about the Inlet's inner workings to ask such a question. Maybe she was just being observant.

As her eyes drop to her hooves he responds only to her last question. "I am not per se," He says. Though it was true he had two sub-leads they were not technically responsible for his herd. Nico took full responsibility for everything that happens in the Inlet because he is the sole owner. Pyre assist with the day to day of his herd while he protects and teaches his heir.

Silence stays between them as he just watches her. She almost seems nervous by what she just said just as much as he was surprised by it. So far Dreamer has measly been a beautiful drifter in his home doing her own thing. He has yearned to draw closer, but he didn't want to force anything. Some things had to come naturally.

Eventually her eyes do lift back as she makes another comment. So many suggests she has for only a drifter. He couldnt hold back the chuckle that escapes him. "I didn't know you were so interested in the herd." A smile stretches over his lips. "Everyone in my herd is considered family even if they are not blood. For this, I have put myself in charge of their safety. It is the oath I took when my sister handed the Inlet over to me." It was just as his father had done for his own.

"I have two sub-leads here who are in charge of their own small herds. One I trust very much and has just had his first foal so he is pretty tied up. It is only the second who has seemed to have disappeared." Though he had an idea who to replace him with. Nox has been with him way longer than Ashitaka has, but he has been quieter than usual. Actually Nico hasn't even seen the stallion in some time.
