I'm your nightmare

She sort of liked that he called her Dreams, it was something different that only he did. She didn’t want to examine the feelings that were associated with that thought however. Feelings for other was very much an alien topic for her, with her past it wasn’t anything she’d really experienced. Well except for hatred, that feeling she knew well, but that wasn’t something she felt much anymore, and especially not around him.

She chuckled I don’t know, never found a problem I couldn’t solve by beating something up she smirked. Truth be told it was probably the only thing she actually good at. Her humour died though when she noticed the stark change in him. She wasn’t sure what was wrong but she didn’t like this, the not knowing. As she listened she became more confused. She had heard the rumours but honestly hadn’t paid much attention to them, it didn’t really concern her as far as she was aware.

She nodded in response yer I’ve heard the rumours that he’s taken the shore back her tone gave away her confusion as to why this was a big deal. Sure she had once lived in the shore but she lived in the inlet now and she was happy here. She may not have let her guard down around other herd members yet but she was slowly beginning to not be on edge around them, she had begun to trust Ashitaka, not even really realising when her guard had come down around him and she had become more open with him.

Unless…. Her eyes slide to the side as a thought occurred to her, a thought that made her hackles raise slightly as she questioned why he was bringing this up, with only one clear answer that came to mind. She instantly shove the hurt that came with that thought deep down, her emotions shuttering as her posture became less relaxed, more rigid the guard she hadn’t even realised had dropped around him quickly rebuilding to protect herself as her emotional state became an air of indifference.
Suddenly the mare he had come to know as Dreams was gone, instead it was the same guarded pony that he’d seen on there very first interaction, the very first time they had sparred.

Taking a small step back to put some distance between them she asked in a blank, neutral tone why do you ask? There was a hint of suspicion in her voice and she was silently for several long moments before she spoke again you want me to leave the inlet? Her voice was quiet, it was said as both a question and a statement, as if this was already decided.
