This was the first time in years his heart jas actually thumped this hard. He still remembers the first time he saw Addison. How could one forget such an unforgettable meeting? She had been stuck and he had only been trying to help. At that time she had only been an acquaintance brought to the Inlet by the stallion Riddler. He had never really gotten to know Riddler as the stalliom had kept to himself with his small herd. Just another calling the Inlet home under his father's lead, but the stallion soon dissapeared.
It was been over a year now since he has last seen Vanner stallion, in yet, his herd remained behind. He hoped nothing bad had happened to him. It just didn't make since that Remi and Addison were left alone so suddenly. Augustus remembers feeling bad for her stuck against that tree. It was right after that that he felt an unkown pull to protect her. He watched over her often ever if he didn't aproach.
Over time the fondness for Addi only grew to become what it was now. His heart thumps when he looks at her. His face flushes and his old dreams of Starla had faded away. He could no longer contain his own thoughts as he confesses his need to have her close. Aug becomes silent watching the changes in her body. He can feel her nervousness which makes him afraid of what she might say. Addi could be defensive...
"Why me?" Her question, and short explanation, drew his mouth open. Excuses...could he call it that? He took a deep breath in and slowly out before replying. She had to know this had nothing to do with her disability. Though it did intensify his need to protect her. "Everyone has their own problems, Addison. Yours doesnt make you unloveable." She was always using her blindness to question why he was helping or why he wanted to be around her.
"I find comfort in you. He begins while thinking of more things he feels when he is with her. "I feel protective of you. I feel calm when I am with you. I feel happy and I haven't felt happy with someone in a long time." It was true. When Starla had disappeared he had thought that was it. The rest of his long life would be spent without the feeling of true companionship. In yet, here it is again.
"I am not asking you to do anything for me. Just stay by my side. Join my herd and grow old with me as I navigate the journey of leading the Inlet." With Addison by his side he knew he could always fall back and ask her opinions. He also felt she would help calm him when he was upset or comfort him when he was sad.
