Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

baby, you were lighting the flame

The young mare found herself able to ignore the way Thranduil's voice colored the sound of her name. Thankfully, since fall was allowing her hormones to merely simmer this time instead of boil over. (She still disliked that she still found him attractive and was even mildly concerned that he was thinner now.)

His tone was softer than she thought it perhaps ought to be, and she was even able to let that thought (and the emotion it stirred) go. However, that seemed to be the extent of her passivity as he continued to speak, admitting that he did not remember how long it had been since last they'd met. So dazed was she by her disbelief that Saphris appeared not to have reacted in the slightest.

Rooted to the spot on which she stood, the blue dun heard him speak of his news through cotton-stuffed ears. A numb feeling spread in her chest as he went on telling her about how his concern for her and their child had never ceased. Incredulity at this furrowed her brows. (He'd never come looking for them. Never came to see that they were, in fact, alright.)

She blinked once. Twice. Then, her dark lips tightened downward into frown. Saphris hadn't even realized the breath she'd been holding in until a short, hollow laugh plucked itself from her throat like a dying wind. "Sure, you did." Though her voice was soft, the sound of her indignation was clear. That slip of his supposed self-control and her naivety had completed changed the course of her life; he couldn't bother to remember when it had happened, but she was supposed to believe that he'd been worried?

"I could tell from how often you came to check on us."
