Following his father’s movement he stepped back as the tall mare stood, eyes widening at her admonishment I didn’t mean.. he cut himself off, dropping his head, a moment later he lifted his head to look at the mare and his father I’m sorry, that clearly didn’t come out how I meant it he spoke calmly, still not not knowing who this mare was, or why his father had allowed some random mare to chastise him in place of the black brute doing it himself. Thoughts whirled in his young mind, but lack of experience kept him from figuring out answers to the questions in his mind. It made him long to leave salem to go exploring and to see what he could learn from the world around him.
He was snapped out of his mental musings by his father’s voice as it took a minute for the words to register, his head coming up in surprise because his father hadn’t spoke of any family before, his eyes looking over the heavy set mare with renewed interest. He didn’t know any of his parents family, his dad never spoke of them and he knew his mother didn’t remember anything of her life before meeting his father.
He nodded in confirmation to his fathers request, moving beside the mare and keeping his pace slow to try and match her own, feeling a little useless however knowing that due to their size difference he’d be unable to support much of her weight if it was needed. Still he kept pace with the larger mare, following his father quietly, even if he did want to ask his father’s sister.. his aunt a million and one questions.
