Strength built for longevity
Even if you cant hear.
Watching everyone line up, the pale woman barely held her tears at bay. She had once hated the mammoth standing beside her, but now she took solace in his presence. Snapdragon looked at the others beside her, counting five in total. Looking from Lucifer to Tefnut, then over to Pacific Rim, she lets out a breath. So far she counts four with herself, but she knows the one she can't see. It makes her heart break as the body of Rutger steps forward, facing everyone. He was the last tie to Tyr she knew, but even her relative could not escape this call. He had been in the Lagoon and with him, he brought others. There were a few not related to anyone here, but she knew what this was. The islands were about to lose many numbers and she could not find it in herself to care.
“Thank you all for joining us.” Rutger speaks first, knowing that right now he was the main one to speak other than Lucifer. “We know this is difficult for many of you to digest, but it obviously has hit meaningful marks in all of you.” As his words fill the air, the stallion turns to look at his niece. Realistically he should not be up here as one of the five, but who else was there? He had to represent the few, considering Wechuge was not related to anyone here and the black arabians had only followed to see what this was about. Shaking out his frame though, the stallion looked back to everyone else.
“We understand that time has to be taken with these things, but it's time for you to say your goodbyes.” Those words, spoken by none other than Lucifer, had Snapdragon turning her head. Her eyes welled up finally as she looked out over the others here. So many were around with so many different coats. It broke her heart watching as her daughter, the first and probably only one she could never grow a bond with, stepped forward slowly. Watching Bubbles, Snapdragon held in her sobs as her buckskin daughter nudged her. “Its time for you to go.” Snapdragon heard. It caused her to stiffen, but the look in Bubbles eyes said it all.
Looking at her mother, Bubbles slowly shook her head side to side before nodding to the mass herd around them. “Go say your goodbyes mother. I will take your place.” With those words, Bubbles watched as Snapdragon stepped off from where she was. Turning her head, Bubbles looked at Rutger and gave him the same look. “You as well. You have no purpose.” Her words were barbed, but the greying stallion just dipped his head and walked off. Now that it was four of them, she looked to Lucifer before slowly turning her head, looking at Pacific Rim. Numbers would drop, but she could see it in the painted woman's eyes that she did not wish to be here if her children were not staying. “It's okay Rim… You can leave with them so you aren't alone anymore.”
Warrior lines for all.
