Boss's Decree

For every brother you bring into the Lagoon, you may have a trinket of your own. I will not touch, barter, trade, or do anything with them. For every foal you create that lives here in the lagoon, you must win a battle or bring in a new brother.

If neither of these criteria are met, come them turning two and remaining in the lagoon, they are mine to do with as I see fit.

The Offspring

Briseis (Carthage x Clio)
Flynnrir (Garmr x Druna)
Gersemi (Garmr x Dior)
Gothic (Garmr x Dior)

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Where there is harmony, there is peace

Where there is harmonie
There is peace

Their time in the Lagoon had mostly been in solitude. None of the other stallions had messed with her especially when Caine was escorting her around. She very much felt like he had given her protection just enough for her sisters to retrieve her.

It was been a spur of the moment thing when Caine had challenged her. At that time she had thought she hated him. He seemed smug, a young dumb boy, but their time alone together changed all that. Her heart grew fonder and her body relaxed. Going back home had been what she wanted all along though she had not realized what had grown between her and Caine. Leaving him had been difficult.

The fact that her belly grew afterwards was a sign she needed him closer again. So she pleads with him to leave the Lagoon and join her side in the Peak. At first his words eases some of the tension in her body. The anticipation of what he might say held heavy on her mind. Nomad? She wasn't exactly sure what he meant by it, but she could only guess he meant being a loner.

She did not remember seeing Caine with anyone else. Perhaps that is what he meant. He then explains he carries the Lagoon name so that he may not be claimed when visiting other territories. She nods in understanding until he says that last part. Chains? The Peak? She stands stunned for a moment unsure of what to think. There was doubt swirling in her mind.

She does not voice it, yet, as he speaks again glancing at their wild bay son. Harmonie can't help the tears that start to swell in her eyes. She had not wanted to do this without him. She should have came to him before the birth, but mother had warned against it. Mother had warned against her bringing Valor near the Lagoon at all. She had to allow Caine to meet him. Her mouth opens to speak, but before she can his wonderful green gaze meets her own.

His words open her up like a book. "I have not been raising our son alone." The words come out softly as she shakes the tears away. "But it is not the same without you." Caine was meant to be with his child, but in the mean time he had a good support system behind him. "He will be raised to be strong and understand the rights of mares. I hope one day he will become a protector of sorts." She glances down at her son with a sad smile. "Be just like my mother and fight for the justice of those who cannot fight for themselves. Free the mares being abused."

It is what she had hoped herself to aspire to if it wasn't for her terrible fighting skills. That, and how nervous she became thinking about violence. But enough about Valor. She straightens herself up and looks back at Caine. "About what you said. About your 'nature'." She wasn't sure exactly what he was getting at by mentioned it. She was not trying to change who he was, only draw him closer to her heart and their son.

"I do not know the Peak to chain away any stallion who causes no harm. It has always been a place of safety for those who want to raise their families in peace. At least that is how it has been since I've been alive. The Lagoon, on the other hand, has killed our own. They have stolen and abused. I've seen it myself." Harmonie may not been that old, but she has seen the cruelty of the Lagoon and also the saving grace the Peak has given others.

Sure, it was mainly to mares, but a few nomad stallions have picked the Peak as a living spot before. The stallion Osmanthus being one of them. Maybe Caine didn't know that. "But I understand if you don't want to live with us or be surrounded by mares. I would rather you just say that then. I am not trying to change who you are. " She had to stay strong. Mother had always taught her this. A stallion can say he loves you and toss you aside the next day. How does she know Caine truly loves her back? Love...did she love him?
