Thanks for your efforts Jailife16. You have single-handedly made my summer more enjoyable by giving me my Jai-Alai fix.
Spoilers.
This was a fun game to watch.
1st set: Olharan came out firing on all cylinders, catching everything in the front, keeping Lekerika pinned in the back and finishing with clinical 2-walls and drop shots. For a bit it looked like his team would run away with it. Then Laduche and co. started focusing more on Oyhenard, really putting him under a lot of pressure and he started to crack. This created a lead and they worked it until the end. There was one very entertaining point where there were 2 two-wall attempts and 3 drop shots.
2nd set was similar in that Olharan was on fire for the first 6 points but then they stopped feeding him in the front and focused on Oyhenard. Oyhenard gave some back this time, catching Laduche out a couple of times. Towards the end of the set Laduche picked up his offense with some sweet 2-walls and a high bouncing Ace. Olharan dumped it into the pad and the score was tied 12-12. Then they started in on Oyhenard again, putting him under relentless pressure until he failed. 13-12. The next point the front-courters traded blistering inside placements with Olharan's winning. 13-13. Once again Oyhenard was put under fire but he stood up to it and eventually caught Lekerika out with a low bouncing zinger up the middle. 13-14. Next point Oyhenard got caught under the bridge by a beautiful, tricky pica thrown by Lekerika. 14-14! Olharan made a heroic fall down rebote on a ball that was low and dying off the back wall but then the wily Lekerika once again caught Oyhenard in the wrong position with a deceptively difficult and fast ball bouncing mid-court and the game was over.
