Another outstanding showing here by Garcia as he took down Johan mano-a-mano. Nobody has been playing better jai alai than Garcia over the past couple of months.
Is there anyone in the sport with a better all around pure physical skill set than Garcia? This guy is equally talented from both the left and right sides. He has an incredibly powerful reverse and a strong forehand. His left side rebote is as good as anyone in the game, and his forehand rebote is also among the best. His backhand carom is thrown with great power and precision. He throws a very good dejada, cortada, carambola, forehand pica, and three-wall around the world shot. His catching and athleticism are excellent.
So for Garcia it is all about whether he is dialed in mentally and playing with concentration and confidence, particularly now when his occasional Dania serving issues of the past appear to be resolved. When dialed in, Garcia is capable of beating anybody at any time.
The Caparrus situation continues to go as expected. Too bad the clearly superior Argoitia and Atain are sitting out at home. Frankly, even several other zagueros like Del Rio, Salegi, Zabala, etc would have been far better options.
