First of all, I am going to kick in my share, or $300, or whatever the amount ends up being. Now my question is this: Since we have so many former Pension Board members in our retiree association, why is it we ended up filing a go-nowhere Declaratory Action that failed on every point and cost the association a ton of money? Now a Firefighter files a suit on a years old COLA check and right away the Pension Board agrees there was a mistake and now we are getting a check. I can clearly remember, before my retirement, I and several other police officers asking police board members, who are now members of this association, questions about the pension and being told that we wouldn‘t understand it. And, that was the only answer we ever got. It now appears our board members didn’t understand it too clearly and maybe that was the reason we, who questioned them, never got an answer.
My second question is this; how are our officers elected, who is eligible to vote and when are the current officers up for election. Do we have to be local to vote for the officers?
