The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Terror striking a dead Heart
IP: 76.182.87.149

The night was cool with a light wind tossing the branches. The darkness was shot through with small rays of light from the moon and many stars, peering through the thick branches over head. It was lovely, breath taking, majestic, and a display that Andere Seite had every clear night. Nephthys barely noticed it, not now anyway. Her heart was torn, shattered, and empty of all emotions. She didn't want to feel the emotions that a breath taking scene might cause. She shifted her chin on to her other paw, her mix matched orbs glazed over. A memory flashed unwanted through her mind, casting her emotions into play, and making her heart freeze. She choked on air that wouldn't move past solid lungs, her muscles twitching. With ever ounce of will power, she made the face disappear from her mind's eye, leaving her staring into the darkness.

She shook her head and stood, her muscles reluctantly obeying. She stood there in the darkness, eyes half closed, head drooping against her chest, alone. And that is how it would be for some time. Pain laced through her broken heart, but she ignored it, working hard to put on the mask that everyone knew her for. But for maybe the first time in her life, it wasn't a mask. It was pure emotions lathered into one force and plastered onto her dark facade. Insanity. Ah, how sweet it felt to actually wear her mask in truth, not just as an excuse. She licked her lips once, tasting the salty flavor of blood. Her own blood. She grimance and spat, trying to rid herself of the painful flavor. How many times had she snapped her teeth in her fitful rage and broken skin? She didn't know, but she took some time to clean away the evidence.

Nephthys leaped carefully off of her smooth rock, and landed lightly on her feet. She shook her dark coat, flashes of white catching the darkness. She clenched her jaw and let out a terror striking growl, one that would make your blood curl. Gone was the firm ruler of Andere Seite, and here was the insanity stricken fae whose heart had stopped beating. She took one step, and disappeared, her black self melting into the shadows.

A ghost. Yes, that is what she became when she raced through the shadows of her homeland. Her heart was no longer a part of herself here. She was alone with nothing to distract her, not even her thoughts. A terrible smile twisted her lips as she dodged through the trees that blocked her. She was no longer Alpha, or she was, but no longer calling all the shots. Kimani could take care of all that. And if her sister ever found herself a mate, then Nephthys would become high Beta. The thought appealed to her, yes, it did. She would not have anyone rule over her, and yet she wouldn't be ruler over her people. The thought jarred her for a moment. Her people. Would they miss her rule? Would they accept her as high Beta, as one of their own? She rolled the thought over in her mind for a moment. And then she let it go. Of course they would, and if they didn't, she'd make them. What did she care about how the wolves of Andere Seite would accept their leader as one of their own. She didn't care anymore.
