During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

For the first time in about five minutes I let my beige luminaries shift, awakening me from my dreamy state of mind. Suddenly I felt tired, my limbs still numb from all my previous thoughts. Like a cloud they seemed to part though, and finally I came to realise a group of wolves had gathered in front of us. Subconsciously I had smiled and nodded, taking in the order of arrival and all the names that were spoken, and I found myself going back to these short-term memories now. I came to gather that the ones whom were sitting a little off, not crawling at our paws were those who had already been welcomed. This was fine by me, and as long as they actually were part of the pack then it would be fine. Any loner who had not submitted by now wouldn’t see a pleasant end, and I didn’t care who saw it. We had made ourselves perfectly clear.

Mess with us or fuck up,
We would kill you.
No such things as second chances anymore.

I felt myself put on a smile, growing more genuine when I spotted the first brujo whom I had welcomed, King Kong. He called himself Kong but I thought King was more fitting, just something about him. I knew there would be a lot of conversation to come with him, he was an interesting figure and I appreciated his sincerity and pure politeness. Such a rare thing for me to come across. Next I spotted the feminique and her adoptee pup. He didn’t seem the most comfortable, and she seemed to have some strange longing to show it affection. I never understood that, but I wanted to. They seemed nice enough I guessed, and the pup had been pretty inquisitive. I had a feeling though Angel wouldn’t be the happiest with this, but he’d get over it. If he cared.

Amongst these wolves I also noticed the unusual brujo whom had submitted before us, waiting almost impatiently without appearing impatient with a quick look. He wasn’t really comfortable with being here though, and I looked down at him, not speaking.

Something about him made me want to just stare, not because I found him attractive or because I found him to be a freak; just because he was different to everyone else, a clear loner. I did not yet understand his motives for joining the pack, but I guessed it was for the obvious of safety and food. I didn’t really appreciated the pack being treated as though, but I wasn’t sure if my guesses were right. Everyone changed, so I wasn’t about to deny him any access into our ranks. So, I gave a small smile and a nod, telling him he could sit back with the others.

Another wolfess who hesitantly drew towards the group grabbed my attention. Her eyes roamed all over Angel, and I couldn’t help but grin to myself; I let my head tilt slightly as I put an eye on him as to watch what his reaction was, but he hardly moved. I felt my scarred lips turn down a little, but I recovered with a smile. She submitted as well, and I giggled in my mind. For some reason I didn’t get along well with females, but I was going to try and change. Sure I got along with ones who were more on the, well, bisexual side. It wasn’t really usual for wolves to turn to such measures though, we were born to live and breed.

Along with this wolfess, another had also entered after my brother. She had waited a good while before stepping into the rippling silver light to address Angel, giving me all the sincerity I needed as she spoke of her name and thanked him. I let my smile grow a little and watched her; so many wolves in this little gathering held different interesting stories of their own. I found myself wanting to know about each one, but I held my tongue none the less. We had more important things to deal with.

Instead of accepting one at a time now, I decided it was best to address everyone at once.

Angel stirred beside me, moving closer to press his flank against mine for comfort. He knew me well enough to know I was preparing a little speech in my mind. I gave him a quick look and he stared back, eyes now suddenly more animated; I could see him trying to fight back words and feelings, looking like an alpha quite well. Together we made a deadly duo and it was obvious, and now we were recruiting the soldiers we so desperately longed to march together; we had heard about all the other packs, and we wanted something different, something we would be known for. Malignant Felicity was of the blood and sex, Saw Tooth of the warriors, Spring Grounds of the family-like closeness and so on so forth. We wanted something different, but we wanted it to come with time. What exactly? That we weren’t sure of.

Everyone was pretty much silent, waiting for us to speak. I let my beige luminaries shift to the brujo next to Kong then around the small group, taking in minor details as I organised myself and let everyone come to attention.

‘First of all, we welcome everyone who has turned up -- The fact you have been brave enough to chose our lands upon the others around here is appreciated. Next, all the wolves submitting may rise and take a seat.’

Hey sure it sounded lame, but it was a start. From there I turned to Angel, who nodded in agreement. He took a small step closer and became pretty much level with me, except for the fact he towered over my frame in height. His voice was what next kissed the air, poisonous and cold but comforting none the less. He was controlling himself well, calm and fit for the job that was presented to us.

‘I am Angel, and my sister is Paranoia for those of you whom were not aware. We have recently taken up these lands but demand respect no less then any old regals around this place. If you were wondering about ranks, then you are all at the bottom - Omegas. It is expected you gain our respect and therefore a step up the ladder, fighting here will not do anything. You all have the right, however, to kill any wolf who doesn’t have the rights to be within the lands.’

He paused and took a breath, letting it settle in before continuing.

‘This also serves as a warning; If you do something wrong by myself or Paranoia, then if it is seen as the right choice by everyone you will be killed. This pack will be one where the alphas will take overall rule, however we would like the opinions of our members. That does not mean though you will always be right, nor does it mean you have any right above your ranks’ limit.’

Angel’s expression did not change a bit through the whole talk. I decided to take over,

‘We will not act as parents to you. Along with that, if anyone messes with one of us then by becoming a member here you will furthermore then be messing with each one of us as a pack. May I just say though that if you have a problem with the harshness of reality, or dragging your weight to attribute in some way, then you should get up and leave now. Anyone who does not give what they take, will be cast out. We don’t need greed amongst us, and this is a kind plea.’

I paused, watching for any movements. Questions were welcome, but I felt like I was standing before a small class. My auditories flicked forwards and I let a gentle smile crack my features, suddenly feeling less worn. I was that little bit more excited. The pack that sat before us though did not know one another, and we were in enough of a kind of circle, everyone sitting around us. I opened my jaws slightly but Angel spoke before me,

‘Enough of that for one day, how about we get to know one another.. Let me see, uh. I’m Angel, as I previously said. My sister is Paranoia, I’m planning to put the past behind me and start anew with you guys.’

He seemed to be a little hesitant, because the idea was so childish. I giggled a little but felt him tense so I decided to go next,

‘I’m Paranoia, and can honestly say the most social out of us two. I find these lands beautiful and am proud to be alphess here.. I’ve met one nice brujo and hope the rest of you will be just as sincere.’

I grinned and nodded, happy with that. Angel relaxed a little, and I gave my banner a quick wave. Sure it seemed silly but it would teach everyone something, wouldn’t it? I liked it.. My beige luminaries shifted, seeing whom would step up next and introduce themselves.

Once again I felt all the weight lift from my back, letting me relax a little. So far we didn’t seem to have any problems, and hopefully we could get everyone relaxing as well. I counted seven wolves, not including myself and my brother. It was a nice number, more then what I expected for a start to be honest. I had a feeling that it was a good sign.
