The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

what is there to believe in

The shy wind that spiraled through the trees felt rough and unforgiving on the white damsel's face as she padded ever so softly toward her home. Was it, still? Would she be welcomed like a long lost sailor lost at sea or would she merely be a ghost of something they never longed to see again, throw out of the borders like the traitor she called herself in her sleep. She had left them, her precious protectors and friends. Not that she had many of them, not since Him, but she did still consider gentle Plague and glowing Kimani her friends. Would they feel the same about her? She couldn't blame them if they didn't. After all, she was the one who up and disappeared for weeks without a trace. Could she ever tell them where she'd gone? Would they understand? She didn't feel that many wolves could understand her hopeful devotion to the search for Phonix. Another hole ripped into her core just at the thought of his name. Why? Why did he leave her when they had just found each other again? What was so important that he couldn't explain to her and take her with him? The dryad was stumped. She was confused beyond belief and this unsavory torment of the past months without him drove her toward suicidal tendencies. Of course, she was no fool. She knew she didn't have the guts to even try offing herself. Too bad, really, that she was too pitiful for even that much effort in something that might be productive to the rest of the world.

What had become of the carefree minx that first entered the foresty gates of Blossom? Was she gone forever? Or maybe the huntress just needed a refresher in her life. She thought she might have the answer. It had come to her one night on her adventures while she was in the deepest of sleeps, that itself being a miracle. You see, Misty couldn't sleep a wink after Phonix's disappearance, having been haunted by the same fanged face who used to smile at her so affectionately in the daylight. Hunter, her old mate, never came to play at night anymore. His face had all but been devoured by the new face of fear in her thoughts. So, the night without any dreams at all gave her a peace nothing had ever touched in her before. When she'd woken to a bright and sunny day, the jezebel knew what she had to do. She had to find a kindly brute to sire her litter. It felt as right as new rain after a hot day. She would find a bronc that made her feel as warm inside as He had and that male would sire her children. Now, if you looked at this objectively, it might seem as if she would be using the poor bloke. After all, once she was impregnated, she planned on leaving the duke in her dust and wadering off somewhere alone to have her children. Then she would raise them herself and think of them always as His. That was meant to be, after all. She knew it as plain as the warm sunshine that beat down so heavily on her ruffled arctic fur. Phonix and her were meant to bear pups. She would make that come true if it was the last thing she ever did on this green earth. She woud bear his children, even if it meant a sperm donor she didn't even know. Surely they would consent to a good time with a pretty vixen, if she was still thought of as pretty, anyway.

She would keep her orbs closed and imagine the titan of her dreams as they made love and imagine how beautiful the cubs would be. It was all she could think about now. You could say she was obcessed with it. One snowy paw pad touched the borderlines of Andere and she hesitated with a sharp gasp. What was she doing? Surely, she couldn't just step right into her old home and call it hers again. That would be disrespectful to Plague and Kimani. Resigning herself to starting all over again, the velca gave a defeated sigh and started dropping to her belly when she heard a slight rustle to her left. The instant instinct to cower came fresh to her mind, but she drove it away with a soft snarl in remembrance of her new mission. What kind of mother would cower at the sound of the unknown? Not one worthy of bearing His pups, that's for sure. Shaking her fur out, the snowy vix steadied herself and padded through the bushes toward the soft noises, her golden lamps widening in surprise as she took in the dirty mess of a fem before her. Her fur quieted instantly, laying back down smoothly on her spine as her maw pulled into a gentle smile. Giving her plume a wag or two in a kindly gesture, the demoness stopped a few feet from the other girl and bowed her dial in hello.

Greetings, I am Misty.

Her harks pushed forward eagerly, feeling more sociable now that she'd gotten a proper night's rest for once in her life. Her sunkist lanterns softened of their own accord, looking on the young seraph with kindness galore. If Plague or Kimani showed up soon enough, maybe it would even put her enough in their good graces to allow her back into the pack. Maybe they would see part of the wolf she used to be, back before her life became empty. Soon it would never be empty again. She would keep it filled with all of her puppies and their tenderness. They would never leave her if she had anything to do with it. Could she let them love and leave her? Could she put that torment on them? Yes, she felt differently about the "L" word now, maybe there was even bitterness in her heart now, though she'd deny it in her new self righteous angst. She had turned over a new life, now, and the leaf left that out of her contract.
