Once a great battle had been fought in this cavern, against a dark beast that had once - and still might - dwell here. No one knows where he disappeared to, but there are rumours...

My evergreen portals watch as raises his kisser in a smile. The gesture is both welcoming and alarming. I return the smile delicately, unsure of the meaning of his motion. His strong lyrics float into my audits and for a minute I am taken aback. Sure I have had many compliments from others but his statement is different. What’s so wrong with this place? I actually find it to be stunning. “I merely let my paws guide me.” Amusement flickers in my orbs as I watch him turn just short of me. At first I thought he was playing a game of some sort. His gaze is higher than my face and too far to the right. I let a light giggle flow from my lips but its cut short as he adjusts his gaze and speaks. He is still off though; his gaze is at my shoulder. That’s when I realize what was truly going on. The handsome brute was blind. “That was beautiful. Did you come up with that yourself?”

The words flew from my mouth before I could stop them. What kind of stupid statement is that? I flatten my ears against my colorful skull to shake the idiocy away. He faces the cave yet again and I take a hesitant step forward, curious to know what he knows. My mother used to tell me that when one loses one sense, a whole other world is open to them. I instantly admire this fellow. I hadn’t realized how close I had come to him when he suddenly speaks again. “Of what reason do you need to be forgiven?” I study him wearily, my body still as I process his question. What did I see? I shift m curious gaze to the cave before me and the world around it. For a minute I am quiet, simply thinking of a way to describe what I truly see. I let a smile slowly slide onto my face as I move forward and rest my weight on my haunches beside him. I flick my ears this way and that as I take in the sounds that fill the area. Taking a small breath, I begin what I know may sound completely meaningless.

“I see a dark void filled with an invisible light that only the truest may see. I see the mysteries within and the secrets without. I see lost souls and hearts wide open. I see a place that the strong may thrive in and the weak would fear. I see a land waiting to be explored. I see hope that can progress to a wish come true if one were to simply take that first step. Tell me, what do you see?” I grow quiet. The only sounds are the dripping of water from the cave roof and the wind rustling in my medium length fur. Instantly, I regret what I had said. Why couldn’t I be normal and simply say ‘I see a cavern?’ Before I can dwell in my embarrassment, he is suddenly gone. His massive presence has disappeared from beside me. My jade gateways drift everywhere, almost frantically as I search for him. I catch sight of him frolicking into the cave. Strange, I hadn’t heard a thing. Another strange thing was how young he appeared. Amazing how one could change appearance in one mere action.

Another smile forms on my kissers and I stand to my feet. His strong words stop my actions for a second. Then the realization that I had no idea who this male was hit me. I cocked my head to the side in a way that always made my family laugh. I watched him as his massive frame slowly disappeared into the cavern. Last to go were his eyes. The bright cobalt irises hold my captive and I simply stare for a moment. As they too go, I feel like I’ve been awakened from a dream. For a minute I wonder if this meeting was even real or if was living in my fantasy world again. Curiosity overwhelms me and I take a step towards the cavern. Soon my feet are moving without my control and I keep going into the cavity until, I too, am shrouded in darkness. I waited for my eyes to adjust but the darkness was so intense it seemed they never would. Rotating my head to the left and right, I searched for my mysterious acquaintance. He was nowhere to be found. I let my paws guide me to a gap in a cave wall. At first, I stumble on loose rocks and wet surfaces. Once I get used to it, I finally reach a dip in the cave’s wall and sit in it like it’s a throne. Curling my tassel around me, I wait patiently for my eyes to adjust.

“What is your name?” His thick, musk enters my nares from all around. It smells of earth, soil, water, clean yet dirty. It’s strange and it intrigues me. I search for his vibrant, hypnotizing orbs but for some reason they do not exist. I prick my audits, searching for any sounds that would guide me of his presence but none came. The demon was like a ghost, one that scared and captivated me at the same time. I started to wonder if he were there at all. For some reason, the thought of his disappearance caused a hole to appear inside me. I narrowed my eyes skeptically at the feeling. I didn’t even know his name.

ooc: thats the most I've ever written! 923 words! I better break the record more and more ^^
