Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

The dark-furred wolfess stepped quietly through the forest. She placed each paw softly before her, pausing ever-so-slightly between each step. Her bi-colored eyes wandered the brush around her in watchful alertness. She had lost ‘him’ and was now alone again.

Rinoa’s straining ears caught thee sound of a small prey animal, probably a rabbit, darting away from her through the berry bushes to her left. She turned her head quickly and debated going after it, but then decided otherwise and sat down carefully instead.

The last few weeks had been hard on the beautiful young wolfess. She had traveled from place to place looking for something…him? She wasn’t sure. Truthfully something about him called to her, but he didn’t seem to reciprocate a feeling of companionship at all. Rinoa sighed and licked her black-brown fur. She wished that he would show up, even if he didn’t want her around; his gaze turned her way was all she craved. She sighed and curled herself up with her tail tight around her. He wouldn’t come, he never would.

Azure Sky, even saying his name in her own head sent a warmth through her body. She had been with male after male in his absence, trading what she had with them in exchange for food and companionship. Some had asked her to stay, to become the thing that they lived for every day, but she had turned each one down with a saucy smile and a gentle kiss. They weren’t her Azure. They held no sway on her heart. Once she had felt a warm touch of life curling in her belly, but it had stopped and she remained alone. She could never settle for anyone but ‘him’.

Her ears twisted to catch another sound, the sound of paws against soft dirt. Someone was digging. She stood and shook her luxurious coat, this could be the ticket to her next meal.

Rinoa followed the sound. Her long delicate legs carrying her silently across the ground once again. She reached the spot where the scent of freshly dug earth tickled her nose. She drew in a deeper breath, then her eyes widened in surprise! It was ‘his’ scent! She had found him! Her eyes cast about, searching for him. He was gone, but from the size of the den, it was permanent and he would return. She pushed the brush hiding the entrance aside and stepped inside, drawing in breath after breath of ‘him’.

Her lips parted in a happy pant as she sat down to wait for her Azure to return. Her tired body soon overcame her furiously beating heart and the ebony wolfess fell into a gentle sleep.
