At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Teeth. Intimidating and deadly and Cade felt suddenly much more aware of her surroundings as she considered the quickest route out of the little clearing in the event that she needed to escape this wolf with the blue eyes. He looked so malevolent with that grin but oddly intrigued. Maybe he'd heard of her family bloodline or maybe he was just thinking about eating her like he had the last female who had encountered him. Comfort didn't stem any from that latter thought, so Cade decided on treading lightly and proving of use to him as something more than a meal who had landed right in his paws.

Her brown and green eyes followed his every move, so masculine and embued with a grace that belonged to those predators who knew what they were and had accepted it some time ago. She was forced to stop following his motions when he got close enough to her to whisper in one of her ivory audits. If she had continued to stare at him, she would have gone cross eyed trying. As much as she enjoyed making stupid faces at her brother for her own amusement, it didn't seem like a very impressive or wise thing to do right now. Instead, she refrained from showing him any fear as his words slipped from his parted lips to the open air and into her mind as she processed them. When he backed off, Cade's grin was still in place as he continued on. Inwardly, she was sighing with the slightest of relief. He could have taken her right then. She wasn't old enough or strong enough to fend him off if the masculi had settled on taking her. But he hadn't and she was still there, refusing to shame her mother by backing down just because he was creepy and liked to push personal boundaries.

His next words nearly made her suck that inner sigh of relief right back into wherever it had come from though. He was implying that he had done better jobs of sucking the blood out of a wolf? The thought occurred to her that she was game for another show as long as she wasn't included in any part of the meal. On some level, she felt disgusted by that thought, but majority wise, it fel on the side of "this is what I should want." While she wasn't anywhere near being the best in ehr family with the cruelty and the hatred of the world, she wasn't a totally conscience abiding ess either. Now when he told her that his better work wasn't something she could handle, indignation flared up in her chest. She was a Satanican. Of course she could handle watching someone else disfigure, maim, or blood suck another wolf. It'd be pitiful if she couldn't. He didn't give her the chance to spit out her feelings about that comment before he asked what her name was though, so she held it back long enough to answer his question.

"Cade. And there's no show in this world that I couldn't handle watching, so don't assume anything. It makes an ass out of you."

She'd thrown caution out the window with that last remark and gave him a bit of a brooding glare for having said such a thing. She also hadn't finished the saying that went with her last set of words, but that was okay. She wasn't an ass an his assumptions didn't make her one. Well, maybe they did considering that she'd just possibly signed ehr death certificate, but oh well. A Satanican is a prideful creature and Cade wasn't about to take any blows to that pride.
