where are we suppose to go; tristan

Grayson had been lurking. Well, lurking wouldn’t have been the most proper term for what he had been doing; in fact he’d just been strolling casually along the corridors of the castle. Every once in a while a guard would spot him give him that stern gaze that they always tend to give him, turn him around and send him on his way in the opposite direction. Grayson would fold his arms, huff, and stick his tongue out at them. Of course, he really didn’t mean it, it was just, he had been trying to find Tristan for such a long time now and every time he felt like he was getting close he would run into them. As much as he one day wished to be a part of the guard he sure disliked them, at least for today. Besides, they were standing in between a friendship weren’t they?

Frustrated, annoyed, and a little disappointed Grayson found himself in the sables. It felt like it had been forever since he had been in here. Instead of having to stand on his tippy toes to see the animal inside he could lean against it, folding his harms over the stall door and happily attempt to reach in and touch the animal. He stood there for a while, tossing pieces of carrots into the stall. It was obvious the horse didn’t remember him very well, he was cautious and weary of him. This in itself was disheartening enough.

Era came bounding through the empty hallway and nearly ran into him. “Era, really?” He said as he backed up quickly to avoid the nearly full grown heeler from smashing herself into her. “I’m sorry Grayson it’s just….” She paused, heavily panting and unable to catch her breath. Grayson laughed and knelt down to pet her, “Sorry girl, you seriously caught me by surprise.” she eyed him uneasily as she licked his hand. “good thing you’re so good at apologizes or I might of kept this information to myself.” Grayson passed her a curious glance, of course she was being playfully sarcastic, Grayson had never been very good at apologizing. “Tell me.” Era smiled, standing up she began to turn away from me. Grayson sighed, “please?” Era turned and lept on him causing him to tumble in some stacks of hay beside the stalls. “well, it’s nearly dark and I think I might have found a way for you to get to Tristan.” Grayson leapt up, “Really?” Era nodded, “but we have to wait till dark.

So for the next few hours Grayson played in the stables, he even got to help the stable hand feed all the horses. Eventually darkness fell quietly around them, Grayson and Era slipped around the castle and through a door on the side of the castle.

Grayson and Era found themselves in front of Tristan’s door only 15 minutes later. Apparently Era had overheard the guard detail saying that they had to meet Arthur or Epos or someone to discuss something very important, no exceptions and no one was to be spared. Taking advantage of this Grayson knew he only had minutes before they returned since whatever was very important was only going to be discussed briefly for tonight. Grayson took a big breathe and couldn’t hid the smile that had taken over his face.

He knocked on Tristan’s door.
