At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

AZA - STEP BACK; THINK

The ‘noble’ wolf declared that it was not he who was sexist; in fact he did not fight females for a reason. Though he did share that reason, he shared it briefly and it still left the girl pondering. “It is because of my past that I live by those rules, that is all.” – Those were the exact words that galloped on steed out of the brujo’s mouth… But what could it mean? Did he once upon a time have to kill females? Or perhaps he enslaved them but that felt even a little farfetched. The curves of the female’s lips quivered as she thought, though her face was as cold and unsympathetic as it had always been. ‘I guess it is for me to not know. But the scars and the muscles and … his face… It all linked.’ She thought as her clueless mind worked hard, but Aza was no detective, she would not be able to know unless she asked and the past is not always a pleasant thing. So she did not. But those words lingered on – was she in the paws grasp of a murderer or psychopath? She would have to be cautious from now.

Her large body swerved to face the brute so that if he tried anything she would have time to escape. And then the ‘mysterious, magnificent’ wolf started commenting on her sarcasm and how if she did not hold her tongue she would not stand a chance in getting a place in a pack. Aza smiled – but a brief switch in her mind automatically turned it into the heartless features that she had always had. “I know when to hold my tongue –when I join a pack I will be seen but not heard and speak when spoken to.” She recounted, telling the brujo exactly what her mother had said to her. “I am rude and mean – a disciple female and no brute would ever consider me for a mate.” She muttered, recounting her father’s words who believed in only the traditional ways – boring rules as she called them. Aza did not take kindly to rules, especially ones that stated all females should by the side of a male, bear pups and nothing else. Stupid, inconsiderable – that is also why Aza left that pack; she wanted to live and run and jump into adventure. Her gazers turned to face the brute.

The brute decided to compliment her bodice – or maybe not her bodice but rather her muscles. He stated that she looked like she had strength. But before, he had said that he was beta. “That must have been an honourable rank; my father insisted that I was not good enough for beta.” She growled, and closed her eyes for some brief moments. Aza turned to look around her, “so, are you planning on joining a pack?” She asked, her head tilting the tiniest bit. Which was a rather bad habit of hers – she could never break it – she had tried.

“Oh,” she mumbled but quickly looked up from her small daze. “So, got any tips for me?” She asked, regarding his muscular build which she tossed her head to. Aza realised then that he had a name which he had shared earlier. “Lycaon, interesting name,” she added nodding respectfully. A small sigh escaped her maw with a hesitant quiver of the mouth. “Aza,” she said gently and quietly, her amber gazers scanned the brujo.

The good news was that the two wolves were no longer biting each other’s heads off. Aza was no longer angry of nervous which meant she had no feeling to use sarcasm as a defence mechanism. Time felt so slow, the days went by without a change – Aza still was alone as always. She was never letting anyone in for long, kicking them out with a lost hope and cruel cackle, an evil glance. And even with company that was all she felt; alone.
