The wind of the night flipping up Magic's pelt, pushing the scents up her body to her auds. A beautiful night it was to lay by the river, feeling her fur soak up the night like a sponge. She yawned, taking an extra breath and scenting more of the forest; its pine needles, leaves, and the smell of brush. For a moment, she forgot the pain in her heart. She looked up at the moon, almost completly full. She smiled at the thought of a night filled with the soft light of stars, the silverness washing up over the terrain in its own magic.

Taking another breath in, she scented something new; a wolf. Her eyes widdened. A brute? She turned around, still seated on the ground, trying to seek the source of this scent. Peering around her lithe body, Magic searched the bushes, but nothing opened up to her as different. The scent had come from behind, correct? She turned back, looking across the river, but that was all the same as well. Wouldn't she have seen anything if something odd swished from within the darkness?

She rose slightly, trying to find a wolf that was hidden among the cover of the shadows. This had to have been a wolf colored in black, for any other color of pelt would have stuck out against the harsh blackness. Just as she was about to move down the river away from this spot along the river, her eyes focused on a lone pair of eyes among the undergrowth, watching her while she sat. The wind blew a breeze towards her again, as if it wanted her to know, and sure it was, the scent she could not identify a mere three seconds ago. She shook her pelt lightly, then sat on the pebbles by the river. "It was harder to point you out of the forest, my friend. To that, I give you praise. Come out of the shadows please, for you are not hidden from me anymore."

The words rolled over her tongue like honey along the side of its comb. her words presented out into the night a soft melody. She was curious about this wolf. Her heart dully ached, but she pushed the feeling away, her thoughts on the wolf of the shadows.
