Talia felt her heart beat quicken as the situation got worse. Blaze, seeing her discomfort and having enough of his brother's insults had leapt forward to attack. Talia was jostled to the side as the two brothers fought.
Talia's eyes were wide with shock and fear as she watched Shadow shake Blaze by the throat. She felt the horror of that day long ago. Her mate being circled by her father, the tearing of flesh, the faes that pinned her down, her howls of anguish as her own father, the alpha of the pack, killed her mate. She wasn't going to let it happen again. She would not watch another brute die in front of her.
She made to move forward, but just then Shadow tossed his brother's limp form aside and cornered her against a large rock. Talia's hackles rose and she showed her sharp teeth. She wasn't giving in without a fight. She had pups and now Blaze to think about. She prayed he wasn't dead as she faced his malicious brother.
"Never." She snarled, her normally sweet features twisted with feroscity. She would kill before she was forced in to anything. She wasn't going to be a victim ever again.
Talia lunged forward and aimed to sink her fangs in to his shoulder.
