Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

She was kind, for that he was thankful; she did not whirl about into a spitting mess at his approach as he had partially expected. Perhaps it had been his experience with the nomadic wolves that had made him more cautious of others - he could not know for certain. He'd always been more likely to avoid rather than socialize, but never had he been nervous to approach another. Perhaps the blast had left a crater in his mind, too, one that he could not see nor feel and yet, he blamed it upon the wickedness of the outside world. He'd become far too used to the kindness and security of Trenus before the blast and now, it was difficult to imagine returning to it. Would he return to it, though? Who was left? Did Heyel reign as King or had others taken his place atop the thrones? There were too many questions, too many variables and too great of a fear of losing it all once more. If he remained alone, what could he lose?

For now, he would focus on the girl before him; he offered her his greatest attempt of a warm smile, giving her a curt nod of greeting as he settled beside her. It had been all too obvious, his uncertainty, but it seemed she did not mind so much - maybe she was in the same boat as he? Perhaps they both looked out over the lake imagining its former twin - the lake of Old Moladion. He watched her from the corner of his eye, watching as she tilted her head to and fro - he always had a bad habit of dumping his heavier thoughts on unsuspecting strangers. A habit that he doubted would ever die off; it had always just been so hard to maintain friendships - to have somebody to talk to. The closest he'd ever gotten had been Heyel - or maybe Belinda. But he'd hurt the poor Trenus Warrioress once more. Another reason that perhaps remaining solitary would be a good thing - others had been hurt, and he did not wish to burden them furthermore. But this girl... she seemed kind enough, as undamaged as a survivor could be.

"Well, Enigma, former Beta of Judila - it is a pleasure to meet you," he replied, turning to face her once more and offering another low bow of respect and flashing her a wry grin, "I am Amorak - the Former Archangel of Trenus, but now I am not so sure what I am. With all our home lands gone... What do our ranks - even our alliances - mean these days, eh?"

He chuckled lightly beneath his breath, though at what he wasn't so sure. Perhaps it was just strange to think that once upon a time, others would have admired his rank but in time, it would mean nothing. Trenus would be just another word along with the name of his rank. Did others think of such things? The thought brought a light frown to his features as he starred at his feet for a moment. Judila. He knew well that it had fallen under new reign so soon before the blast - it had been Tobias' dark hole in which he lived and yet... had he been wrong? Had he been wrong even two years ago to assume that Judila was full of monsters? It had been what they had been told, what they had been lead to believe and yet, with another passing glance to Enigma, he found it hard to imagine her as such. He'd always been a sucker for first impressions, though.

"Strange, isn't it? There were so many of us back then - but none of us really knew each other," he suddenly spoke, biting his tongue half way through and shooting her another apologetic grin. Sometimes his thoughts just... found their way to his mouth without his consent - another bad habit. "I mean, I just wonder if we would have ever met back then."
