During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

[monologue] for a sleepless night

Serris suddenly slipped out of the foliage, his form lean and incredibly dark. He hadn’t been eating very well lately, an accumulation of events that he’d rather not go into. Still his pelt held the same dark allure, the same smothering midnight that captured so many already. His spheres sized up the newcomer, their sapphire depths judging the boy that now stood so close to Kobato. His head still hurt like crap, but after what happened he was feeling on top of the world. The charcoal brute’s fur bristled as he approached, still processing the last words he spoke. So, the little lady beat him to this newcomer? Well, he’d try to repair what damage had already been done.

The Alpha spoke as he walked, his strides as stiff as his banner as it curled over his spine. His lyrics were sharp, to the point, and slightly protective. “The only knight you’ll become is one singed by the dragon.” Surely, if this boy had any brains in him, he’d understand what he truly meant. Finally close, Serris positioned himself slightly between this newcomer and Kobato. Only recently had he accepted her as Munashii’s true princess, and something more to him personally as well. But that was no matter to be discussed on the first date. He could already detect that look in this stranger’s eye as he stared at the lady now behind him. He had been like that once, a young teen with too much libido and not enough sense. Many a night he spent with some stranger. He would not let Kobato suffer the same fate.

“Let me make something clear for you, boy. You came to my borders, and therefore I will give you a choice. You may either ask to join or die by my fangs. But, if I discover any other ulterior motive, trust me when I say that choice will no longer be yours.” His features were stone cold, that of a father on prom night. The vampire’s eyebrow rose; an invitation. He was feeling invincible, what with the recent developments of Kobato and Alleria. “Care to introduce yourself?” he prodded, although the power and command in his voice was unmistakeable.
