Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

The world of Moladian has changed a lot. There is much light and hope, but there is also much darkness now too. Iromar has brought most of the darkness to them so wolves of threat value should be pretty easy to find. I am aware that Vague has decided to join them. I cannot prejudge him however. ruvndra is his mate and though I may not understand why she chose such creatures to keep at her side, I will not take down her value for it. Ruvindra has done nothing to me and she proved to be a very valuable asset for Heyel while he held Trenus. I won't hold this against her, it's not in my nature. She has honor in her own way and so does Vague, or at least he did. I cannot say whether he's still the same wolf but I'll go into this meeting with an open mind because I don't trust vague. I didn't trust him then. Ever since he poisoned Amir, I haven't trusted him, I only gave my word that I wouldn't hunt him once he brought Amir's intentions to light. That doesn't change the fact that I think there's still something off about him.

Vague must notice the way I stiffen at first approach, his eyes glowing with the humor of an unheard chuckle as he comes around to take a seat by the river. He returns the nod, the grin remaining on his features. He seems to be reading me, searching for anger, for resentment, any negative feelings toward him but he won't find any, not on my face. I'm way too experienced at hiding my emotions to let him in that easily. He agrees that it's been a long time before his eyes travel over the surroundings. He looks back at me, telling me that Ruvindra is good, reminding me of her pack. Then he returns the simple gesture, asking about Kiska. I nod, ears pricking in interest. That's good to hear. I'm glad things are working out. Kiska is great. The twins are growing like weeds and we're settling into Diveen just fine. It's been weird, getting used to not having to run things but I have faith in Kane and Isola to make it work. The pride in my eyes is evident as I talk about my son. I see great things in him.

Vague seems genuinely interested to hear about my life, my mate, his ears at full attention, his eyes gleaming with intrigue. I wonder if he knows about Kiska, if he's ever met her. I don't think he has. Kiska didn't get out much, well, except for Abraxus but let's not go there. She met some of the pack wolves but that's about it. I don't worry for her, though. Kiska can definitely handle herself. Suddenly the tension in the air is evident as he brings up that night that Amir tried to attack Ruvindra. I stiffen a little but I let him continue, showing nothing but open curiosity in my stare. I tilt my head a little and when he's done, my lips twitch toward a smile again. No need, Vague. You did your duty by protecting Ruvindra that night. I was doing mine by showing up to take care of a pack member. You did all the real work. I note the slight teasing tone in his voice. I arch a brow up but my face gives nothing away. He's going to have to work for it.
