Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

but I won't let this world wipe me out

Was she so surprised by his rapid response? Of course not. The boy seemed far.. int touch with the happenings of just about anything to miss a particularly loud girl shouting and storming about his pack's borders. Yes, in fact, she quite liked the idea of somebody coming when called particularly when she had spent the last four years of her life doing the coming and not the calling; it made her almost smug as she saw his golden visage dance over the landscape. It had, of course, been so long since she had seen him that her mind could not quite put two and two together - he looked... so different. Had she not known any better (and had he not been an at all too obvious colour), she would have guessed a different wolf was greeting her. It was definitely him though - the black eyes were seldom found in others along with the pelt of flawless gold. She eyed him curiously, noting the changes in his physique and meeting his gaze levelly, giving him a silent nod of acknowledgement before he broke into speech. Another thing she had been expecting - an almost immediate and constant stream of words poured from his mouth, causing her lips to pull up into a curious half-grin. If she had been nervous, she had been doing a good job at hiding it - it was the first time she had ever sought another out for friendship, after all.

He sat beneath her and she watched down, certain that she would not be giving up her place any time soon. She quite liked her rock - and seeing as it was not within Glorall, it meant she could call it her rock in all earnest. Her lips went to move in speech but she was overwhelmed once more by the analysis of her Paulo Aurem; she chuckled at his mention of coming to assassinate and her head tilted in curiosity. He noted her position and pointed out the flaws in her apparent plan; she shifted her gaze to where she stood, noting the distance and angle of which she would need to cover. If she were to leap, she would go over the top of him - if she were to follow the angle of which he sat at, she would simply drop from the stone and quite possibly onto her head. He was correct - her position was certainly not one worthy of killing but she would humor him. With a flicker of her ear, she moved closer to the edge of the stone, dropping onto her belly and dangling her paws and head over the edge, an almost playful smirk over her face.

"Unless, of course, my aim was to lure you into security; give you the feeling of having an upper hand but indeed, I could just as well corner you in one of the many natural features in this area. My work does not always need to be so immediate, Paulo Aurem. Perhaps I would simply await until we remained on even ground; after all, there is a great probability that my agility would render your strength as a weakness, no?"

She starred down quizzically, entertained by the idea of what he could come up with in regards to her tactic; surely his brain would consider not just every angle of the physical world. Who had trained him? Surely another would have taught him such skills - the ability to deduce and analyse, it was enviable truly and had she been able to, she would have devoured whatever part of him made him so... smart. Tactics had never truly been her strength but perhaps just a few moments with him would aid not only her desire for company but her desire to learn something more; already, she had learned a location by Glorall that would offer her an easy kill had the opportunity ever arisen. She noted the opposite stone with a brief sideways glance; she doubted there would ever be a reason for her to operate within Glorall but you never know, right? Her ears flickered forward at his question, her eyes widened slightly in surprise before narrowing just as fast in challenge. She huffed, rising to her paws almost instantly and stretching out her long limbs before her tail swayed behind her.

She was about to put his little test into action when he spoke once more, her head tilted again on its opposite axis and eyes alight with amusement. Wild flowers? Lovely? Her mouth fell slightly agape, speechless for once - she'd never had the words lovely used when it came to, well, just about any part of her. For some moments, she simply remained silent, brows furrowed slightly before she finally mustered up the ability to speak once more, clearing her throat quietly beforehand.

"I, uh, well thank you... Diveen has quite a number of flowers, I imagine some are quite local to the area as I haven't seen them anywhere else and I can assure you, I travel a lot," she flashed a wry grin before continuing, nodding curtly in confirmation, "But you are half right. I came to, uh, just talk, I guess. But I would be more than glad to partake in your experiments; perhaps we can teach one another something new."

She nodded before she began to size him up, her gaze sweeping over him and seeking out her imagined target. If she were to be taking him down in all seriousness, she figured the most logical route would be to take out his spine first - to incapacitate his back legs considering her disability of not having a good aim for his throat. Yes, she would aim for the central region of his spine, though her mouth remained closed and her features alight with a smug grin.

"Just to keep this fair, I shall not be using my teeth so neither shall you."

And with that, she threw her weight forward with little more warning than a twitch of her tail. If he wanted to accurately test his theory then he would need to accurately test his reaction time and capability to move either out of the way, or to position himself correctly beneath her. She braced herself for her landing, half expecting to be flipped onto her side by a shift in weight. It was not quite what she had expected but who was she to complain? After all... it could be fun, right?
