aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The night could be a gracious thing; something to hide secrets in, to share the world in a different light, to experience things not many others would think were possible or comforting in the same way. Magic currently sat upon a giant boulder, soaking up the night in the glory that was bestowed on the rock. Her banner silently tapped on the part that rounded down towards the ground where the rock met the earth. The moonlight was leaking down through the trees, though not in a perfect ray; some of it was covered up by the leaves overhead, providing a nice...umbrella. The black vixen had just been to Prey Plateau, hunting for her needs and wants. She had selected a goat, which was currently hidden among the forest and its scent was conceived. Her amber pools looked around her, searching ahead of her for something to pop out at any moment, but she stayed on the boulder that seemed to be loving her, somehow cradling her body on a flat surface. For once in a very long time, the black feya felt at home and safe within the walls of a pack land. Even if she had lost the vote to the new Alpha of the pack, she felt that he suited it better and was in a better position. How would it be perceived, or was, that newcomers threw their names out and practically asked for the rank? Perhaps maybe Magic wanted to suck the words right into her maw.

Kalgalath would prove to be a strong leader, and Magic concluded it then. He had a strong heart, and thought about his actions carefully and without concern. Or, perhaps he was hiding it and was concerned. Whichever the case, Magic was not worried about his leadership. As if on cue, Magic heard the lyrics of the lead coming through the trees. She pulled her head up from where it was soaking in the starlight, and smiled with a gleam in her eyes. She felt, and wanted, that this time was to be with their ranks and positions behind them and for their personalities to shine through. Magic didn’t think she would be able to take it if she stayed in this pack for a long time, which she planned on doing just that, and would not know this wolf that was leading her personally. Nope; zero chance the vixen would make it through life itself. “Hello, Kal. I have to agree, this evening is quite wonderful.” She looked up at the sky, wanting to see the green rays that twirled not too long ago. Her her disbelief, they were gone. Such a shame. “Slumber? Oh, sometimes I just wander out into the night. I rarely sleep during it, actually. Why should such beauty be wasted?”

She jumped down from her perch, feeling that it would be awkward to sit above him and also, if he wanted to come and join her on the boulder, she didn’t think their would be enough room. She could have made the dismount more gracefully, but that was the least of her problems, which she didn’t have much at all, problems. She nodded in agreement when Kal came halfway through his speech. Once he finished, she replied without the need to think her answer over. “I would very much like that. I feel that it is necessary and that it should take place rather soon, and I am happy you are sharing this evening with me. I think Glitch went off to think or see new things with his own eyes. I tend to do that myself sometimes, as like right now.” She didn’t answer the last part to what he said because she thought that it was more of a comment and really it was rather rhetorical. She moved herself into a sitting position, not quite wanting to lay on the ground and rest; she had enough of it already. She smiled, knowing at the moment they were being considered equals and that whatever glinting ray of sunlight that was being held over them was discarded for the time being. She decided to say something so she could keep the conversation moving. “It is my understanding that you have known King Kone for quite a while now? If you do not mind me asking, how did the two of you become friends?” She tilted her head for effect while she was looking at him, then stared ahead into the brush as he continued to speak and recite his answer.
