Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Iblis walked away from the pack lands, away from the binds that snared and trapped the souls within. A wolf longed to be with his own kind but to be trapped to do the bidding of another was not worth it in the end. For Iblis, living a lonely life was better than living a life under someone else's rule. And so he made his home within the free lands of Moladion, never staying in one area for too long. A loner must always move to stay safe, but the scarred warrior had more reasons to stay on his paws. There was danger within these lands, a darkness no light could penetrate and if left unchecked, it could consume everything. With the packs busy squabbling amongst themselves for power and only seeking to protect their own, it was up to the strong and brave to protect the weak from the shadows. Iblis had taken it upon himself to watch out for the other loners who had nowhere to go, no one to turn to when things turned sour. Why had he taken this task? That was a story for another time. Iblis did not do this for personal gain or for a spot in the legends of old. No, he simply did it because he thought it was right. Nothing more, nothing less.

The small wolf stopped his travels to take a break at a small stream. He moved to the banks and lapped at the cool waters, a sigh leaving his throat as the liquid eased the pain of his empty stomach. Winter had been harsh for Iblis as there had been little to eat. Being along meant finding what you could and hunting only the smallest of prey or savage from another's kill. With spring finally here, prey would be much easier to come by in the form of fawns and kits. Yes, spring was a good year for loners and Iblis couldn't wait to eat a full meal again. But until then, he would have to make do with what he had now, which was nothing. Such is the life of a wanderer. Finished with the steam, Iblis begins to make his way to somewhere when a sound stops him. It is a childish sound, a giggle, and it is close by. Curious, Iblis moved towards the sound which took him across the stream and into a nearby run off.

The sight that greeted him made him chuckle under his breath. With so much darkness, hate, revenge, and other such nonsense in the world today it was a nice relief to see that there were some wolves that still walked in the light, who still knew what innocence was, who still knew what it was like to let go and have fun. Too bad Iblis wasn't one of those wolves. He walked in the shadows to protect the light, he was not innocent and there was blood on his paws he could not clean, and there was not time for fun when you spent your whole life fighting for good. Still, it was nice to see others enjoying these things. Iblis moved forward and stood at the edge of the mud puddle to greet the now brown wolfess within. He cleared his throat and smiled pleasantly. "Hello, My Lady. What on earth are you doing in there? For a coat as beautiful as yours it is a shame to see it so dirty. Allow me to introduce myself. I am called Iblis. Who might you be, My Lady?"
