aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice

Although he was pleased that she had heeded his call, no smile grew upon his kissers when Magic’s scent drifted into his olfactories. He had decided to keep his demeanor stern and stoic accepting lupines into his pack, feeling the need to impose his authority right from the first meeting, in order to give the impression of strong leader. After accepting three other lupines as new members, it had finally hit the brute that he was, indeed, the new alpha and that the pack’s future and safety lay in his paws. The confidence that he had had to fake at the beginning of his reign was coming easier to him now, the difference being that the confidence he felt now was real. The way that he carried himself had changed, with his walk being stronger and bodice carried more erect. And why had it grown? All that needed to be done was getting done – the pack’s boundary had been remarked with his stench, multiple times over. The other packs had clearly heard that a new alpha was in play, and SawTooth’s mistress, Moth, had sent an emissary to negotiate a peace treaty.

Her name was Kori, and she had arrived at the pack meeting that Kong had called, asking to watch the proceedings and then converse with whoever the pack voted into the position. When Kalgalath had been voted in, she had announced her reasons and had presented forth Moth’s treaty. He knew of Saw Tooth, better in fact than he knew some of the other packs, and knew them to be a large, strong pack. Such an alliance would better Aurora Borealis, especially at such a time as this, where a new leader had started his reign. One that was, for the most part, unknown among the other terras. So the brute had accepted the treaty, but had wanted to know the specifics of the treaty. The negotiations were ongoing, for after the pack meeting had disbanded, Kori had disappeared. Kalgalath had been thinking about making a trip across Blossom Forest to speak with Moth directly, figuring that there was the possibility that Kori had not been given such specifics.

And then there was the fact that many of the members who had been in the pack before Kal’s reign had become absent. In fact, all of them had. Even King Kong, Kal’s dearest friend and the lupine that Kal had designated as his Beta, had not been seen since the vote had taken place. Though the grey brute was gladdened indeed by the sudden swelling of his ranks, he dearly wished that the older members would make an appearance. Zig’s faint scent in the terra hopefully marked such a return, and Kalgalath made a mental note to find her and get to know her better once he was done accepting the strangers at his border.

But these thoughts were currently at the back of his mind. At the forefront was the stench that was intertwined with the fae in front of him – the reason that he had called to Kong and Magic. The fae arrived silently from the wood, and Kal was surprised to see that she emerged from the shadows of the trees full long into the bright rays of the morning sun. Her rehabilitation of reaccepting the day was going much better than the brute had thought it would. Magic eyed the stranger fae, clearly smelling the scent of another pack upon her, as Kal had. Once the fae’s focused switched to Kal, she had greeting him simply.

Though Kal was anxious to find out why Aindreas’ scent was intertwined with the young fae in front of him, he would not discuss it with Magic in front of the fae, especially with the scent of Munashii Gekko upon her pelt. And was that also the hint of Abendrot? His distrust of the strange fae led him to not wish to share any thoughts in front of her, so instead he cocked his toward Magic and gestured to the ground by his side. His words came forth then, but they spoke in general terms and of no names, so that the stranger would not know of what he spoke. “Hello Magic. I believe that the young wolf I raised – the one I told you about – has returned to Blossom Forest. My wish is for you to track him down and see if my thoughts are correct. Do not endanger yourself. I had hoped that Kong too would come…” The brute brought his muzzle close to her audettes then and lowered his voice so that only she could hear. “His scent is the one upon the fae. The one intertwined with Munashii Gekko. I do not know if it is simply remnants from the border and the terra… ” His words ended there and the brute fell silent, his attention focusing upon the young fae once more, awaiting her reply to his previous monologue.
