During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

The Way of the Warrior

The fae stuttered her way through her next set of speech in response to his question, and then had faded away into silenced. No…I…if…just if something were to happen to me… The words were uncertain and Aindreas decided not to delve deeper into his question, guessing that her reasons for requesting that he look after her brother were private. He was one that respected privacy. And then, when the brute had asked after her past, Genisys had kept her gaze averted away from him. Aindreas was gladdened that the fae had confessed that his gaze did not upset her, or this would have just been proof of what he had previously thought. The fae told of her travels, far and wide, though all in general terminology. She did not name any specific places or go into great detail about any, save one. Genisys told of a mountain that had a lake at its base, where she had remained for three months. It had been beautiful, and safe, and had plenty of fish, but the winter had ruined it. And she had had to move on.

Her words revealed that it was a dear memory, for her vocals remained strong and steady when she spoke, in clear opposition to her previous attempt at speech. And in her monologue, she had referenced his eyes once more, comparing them to the the lakes. These lakes were so brilliantly blue that I could’ve drowned in them and still be happy. Your eyes remind me of these lakes. The fae had spoken these words while smiling, all the while gazing upon him once more. Aindreas felt a strange chill run through his bodice, and the brute shook out his pelt, trying to rid himself of it. It had travelled first down his spine, and then lay in his stomach, and remained there despite his shaking, and so he ceased, sitting motionless once more. The tingling feeling was new to him, and as such Aindreas did not understand what to make of it…so he ignored it, hoping that it would go away.

Upon ending her story, Gen then reciprocated his question. Have you always lived here? This time, it was Aindreas’ gaze that shifted away. But the fae had been forthcoming about her past, to a degree, and so Aindreas opened his snowy maw to speak. “No, I have not always lived here. My tale is a long one, so I shall just speak of its highlights. When I was a pup there was a terrible storm. My parents crossed a river and carried my siblings across. They thought I was strong enough to cross on my own… but I was swept away. When I awoke I was here, in Blossom Forest. A fae named Casey adopted me and we were inducted into Munashii Gekko, but she soon adopted other pups as well and forgot about me. A brute named Kalgalath took me under his wing and raised me a warrior, loyalty first. But he disappeared some time later, and I went searching for him. After two years of a fruitless quest, I returned here, to Munashii Gekko. The only place I have truly ever thought of as home. Paranoia, the previous Alphess, was gone. So I swore my fealty to Serris. And that brings us to now.

The brute’s monologue was spoken in monotone. He gained no emotions when he thought about his past. In his mind, his role models had been a constant cycle of abandonment and disappointment. Serris, of course, was excluded, for Serris was his lord and master. But Aindreas liked to keep his memories locked away, never taking them out to cherish them.

But Kalgalath. His mentor. That had been his greatest disappointment of all. He had spoken of loyalty, but had left both Paranoia and Aindreas without so much as a goodbye. Nothing to tell of where he was going, when he was going to return, if he would return at all… Aindreas liked to think that he hated that grey brute. In truth? The snowy titan missed him dearly.

Aindreas brought his attention back to Genisys, and when his eyes laid upon hers, he became aware again of the fuzzy feeling that lay in his stomach like a brick. But, as stubborn as he was, he ignored it. “That is my tale, Genisys, and it is one I do not speak of lightly. Remember it, if it you, for you will surely never hear of it again.

Kal is FREAKING out upon smelling Aindreas’ scent and asked one of his warriors to track down Aindreas. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA. XD I am excited.
