Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Either his brain was not nearly as large as his body- or he was as slow of the mind as he was of the leg. Honestly it is simply annoying when I am trying to get a rise out of someone and they remain utterly calm. I am not even sure he understood I was having a go at him and really- maybe I should pity him a little, not use so many large words. Either that or this particular wolf of Iromar was simply just- more friendly then the others. The again I haven’t lived this long be by fooled by acts of pleasantness. We shall see. I merely shrugged to myself, somewhat perplexed by his behaviours as he freely admitted to his lumbering before turning to sit himself in front of me. Truly he was a rather hefty fellow- exactly the kind I hard worked to breed out of my line and Amaterasu had thrown back in when she allowed Zildjian to- well, give her pups for want of a more gentlemanly description. Fortunately Isola had maintained our purity and Azrael to some extent, though that was a whole other area of nonsense I hardly wished to think on, focusing my mind instead almost purely on the male before me as he asked if I frequently watched other wolves. I scowled, what on earth was he implying with that sentence? Did I watch other wolves? What, as a hobby? Honestly the less time I had to spend looking at the rabble in the loner lands the better, my eyes were frequently defiled by sights of poor breeding, low intelligence and demon blood (of which combines the previous two along with inbreeding I am entirely sure). Then again, I suppose I did do rather a lot of watching, I know everything after all and as such am required to be a part of most things- unfortunately. I eyes him warily another moment before speaking.

“I suppose I do watch what and who goes one around me if that is what you’re asking. Your lumbering was rather hard to miss, you know if you lifted your legs a little higher you might actually go faster, not by much, you might also trip and fall on your face- your gamble.”

I grinned again, though with perhaps slightly more well-intentioned humour as I chuckled at my new source of amusement before moving to face him once more, violet eyes finding his own. Either he was a very good pretender, or he was actually a little- slow, either way I had every intention of using it to my advantage. Iromar has annoyed me enough of late, perhaps even enough to start ripping pieces off of this thing- but first things first, let’s see what he knows. I yawned, posture relaxing into something slightly more comfortable and non-threatening, gesturing for him to do the same as I angled the sun against my back. I like the glow affect it has. I’m also old and I enjoy the warmth, so shoot me, this guy might actually be older.

“So, tell me, do you have a name? I am also rather curious as to why you are out alone, your pack members rarely travel alone. I believe, unlike the Angels, they fear going out by themselves. Evidently you are braver and stronger than your frightened little pack-mates. Surely I’m not that scary am I? Is that why your pack travels in odd little herds? They are afraid? Is that why your leader stands shaking behind his border line to afraid to cross it, calling himself King when only his pack can hear it? You do know he is not actually a King don’t you? I’m Leyeh, by the way, Scout for the Angels of Diveen.”

An old joke, but a good one that name. One eye lifted voice polite and even if not mildly amused as I awaited a response.
