I DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING
When he'd heard Enigma's yelp of pain, Cobryn had gone a bit postal; wanting nothing more then to throw himself at the sea lion in a blind rage. The thing was dead soon enough, and he took his anger out on the corpse before food was served. After a few went ahead to grab their own meals, Cobryn dug for the creature's liver and carried it off. It was suppost to be the best bit -- soft, full of nutrients -- and so he'd gone for it after the others ripped into the sea lion enough to get most of the work done for him. But this prize was not for himself, no. He had grabbed it for Enigma. She had been injured, and so he would care for her. Doesn't matter that it's a tail injury and not something more lethal. It would still hurt badly, and Cobryn wanted Enigma to take it easy to heal.
He couldn't allow her to stress. Thus.. he could not speak of the things that had happened. It didn't change his standing point on his relationship choices, no matter how much it was going to haunt him. He was ashamed of what he'd done, but how could he have expected to change that much? What he wanted and how it would be were very different things. He found that he'd been affected by things more then he'd realized at the time. Was he wrong to hold onto hope that anything could be okay, that he could be happy for longer then a few months? He'd started to become content with so much, and then he'd gone and fucked that up. It didn't need to stay that way, though. He could get past this. He would try. He wouldn't let it show, hold him down.
Trailing Enigma with the liver in his jaws, he paused to look her over, gaze landing on her tail. It was crooked, but maybe it would fix itself. If not.. that was okay. He closed the distance between her and himself with a soft whine and set the liver before her. Swiping his muzzle with his tongue, he lowered himself to his belly and watched her; a critical eye given to the broken tail. He wondered if it should be straightened out to heal that way better, or if it would cause too much pain to be worth it. He aimed a light lick to Enigma's maw. "Don't worry about anything; just rest up and I'll hunt when it's needed." The words were quiet, and the commotion back at the sea lion had him looking up. He watched, stunned, as the orca grabbed Weylin and slipped back to the sea. There hadn't been time to react, and Cobryn could only blink. Holy shit.
