aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Fluent moves of athletics columns propelled the female forward, sinews moving under the darkened layers of black hide. No way was Leila flawless, nor was she was strongest or the bravest or even the quickest but she was part of the pack. It was for this reason Leila was dependant on simply training herself to the best of the ability. She would be of some use at least in rough times but those times were not of requirement at the present, in fact the pack was practically flourishing under the reign of Kalgalath. He was certainly worthy of the throne. She was pleased she encountered him that pleasant afternoon – even if he had interrupted her basking time…. A wan smile spread on her maw as she dodged targets that usually would have faltered her. Now she was participating in the pack! A proper pack girl! She almost grinned at the thought but she had to remind herself that she was in fact in public… Smiling and talking to herself would probably be seen as the first sign of crazy. Even so she couldn’t help but lounge in the uplifting emotion the pack made her feel. Everything was so bright now!

The phantom faltered a slow, steady halt. In the distance she would see two… no three wolves huddled over the group. Curiosity seeped into her mind – who was been accepted? She could tell a new wolf arrived otherwise why else would they have gathered around the border line? With a brisk decision, the girl set off at a quick footed pace towards the crowd. Even before she fully reached them, the large bodice and powerful fragrance of the King had dominated her navel. And then two other scents reached her. A male and a female but the female had the fragrance of another pack… So she was the one joining? Had she left her pack? Maybe it was an alliance! Questions buzzed through her mind in one long spiral of blusterous masses. She was only acquainted with Kalgalath, the others were strangers… But the female looked around the same age as herself and she needed some lady friends. She had only managed in befriending Kalgalath and Tyson. She slowed her pace and set off at a respectable, formal manner. First introductions were certainly important. Leila raised her head but remained in a casual posture, after all – what reasons did she have to be so formal?

Upon reaching the group, she allowed a smile to dominate her mandible. She just caught the end of the stranger female’s lyrics. She has no home? Leila hid the puzzlement was diffused on her features. A strong scent of a stranger pack was littered upon her pelt. She must have left it. For reasons that Leila was unsure of, no doubt Leila guessed, she would have already been quizzed about it. She wasn’t about to go questioning her again. She would ponder silently. She dipped silently as Kalgalath, unsure whether she would catch her gesture.

“Oh,” she said, shaking her head slightly as she had been standing idly. “I’m Leila, what’s your name?” She addressed the female before turning to the male. “I’m sorry; I’m not sure who you are either..? I’m not the most observant of wolves.” She chuckled. Her tail swayed with friendliness, it was always exciting meeting new wolves. She knew that the brute was of Aurora Borealis but she had never before encountered him. The female however was of another pack entirely. “So, you’re here to join?” Leila inquired in a chirpy, cheerful tone of voice. She hoped that she would be able to make a new friend.

In the time it was not a requirement to chat, Leila turned to observing the wolf. She knew most things about Kal, so instead she focused on the strangers. The female was a mixture of russet, brown and a light sandy colour. It reminded her of the colours of autumn. Her eyes, the spectre noted, were a gentle amber colour. She was a pretty match of colours. Leila turned back to the brute and once again to Kalgalath. She should stay quiet now, the phantom decided quietly; stay respectful of their own business.
