raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
After the meeting, Mortz and Everchime had continued their training with each other, she was learning just as he was learning and though she disliked to teach any child how to fight she knew that she didn't want them to be as helpless as she felt most of the time. Not having known how to fight in the very begining. Her father had simply promised her to another pack, though she had other plans and that had thrown the whole thing into a loop. She hoped she hadn't made a real mess of things back at her parents pack, but she hadn't wanted to be someone's baby maker, she had told herself she wouldn't be like her mother and go insane from having to many babies. Was that why she'd gone insane? was there even a chance for her to go insane even if she didn't have as many pups as her mother had?
Whatever the case maybe, a few days later they were trotting through the sand, a race of sorts. Though Everchime was letting Mortz win this time around, he on the other hand was flat out running when he smelled something that caused him to dig his feet into the sand and slide to a halt, spreading sand all over the place. Everchime was lost in her thoughts as she ran and nearly bowled him over for not noticing him stopping. She looked around but could only see the male Silvertongue and his mate. Roe... roh.. something or other, she couldn't remember off the tip of her tongue. Mortz though, smelled something or someone else and took off "NO! MORTZ!" she hollared at him, "you can't just go barging in on other wolves like that" she mumbled under her breath as she raced after him.
He of course had the head start this time and knew that scent for Rio and he was extreamly happy to see her again. His tail wagged like a maniac as he crashed towards them. "RIO! RIO IT'S ME! MORTZ!" he shouted and this caused Everchime to halt her process breifly before taking up the run again. She was a tad bit late and when she did get there she saw the pup who was roughly around the same age as morts, a female. Awe, how cute! he had a friend. Though she scowled at him "Mortz," she said breathlessly "as I was trying to say, you can't just barge in on others, I'm sorry Your Highness's" she said to the two of them and tried to herd Mortz from the three-some "No! Miss Everchime this is my friend Rio, her momma left her all alone. I'm sorry Rio that I didn't come back for you...." he said his tail between his legs as he tried to settle himself down enough that he wasn't acting like a fool now.
