At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

She smelled foreign and strange, but beneath it all, he could smell her. He couldn't say how long he stood there, muttering into her fur, inhaling the aromas on her person and reassuring himself that he hadn't lost his mind and made all of this up. She seemed just as content as he to stand there in their embrace. Her response to his words made him give a strangled laugh, his emotions too raw and fighting for expression for him to properly laugh at her words. It was just like her to make a joke at a seriously emotional moment and he loved her all the more for it. Love...if he had had any doubts in the past, he found them burned away. He wanted to scream it from the bottom of his heart and ask her to never leave him again. When he finally managed to pull himself back together, he retreated back a few steps, warming with the sensation of Zelda adding one last squeeze to their seemingly never ending hug. After stepping back a few stumbled paces, he took the time to actually look at her. Nothing seemed very physically changed about her and found himself smiling while appraising her. On a sudden whim, he leaned forward and licked her nose before grinning wolfishly at her. His voice followed, stronger and fuller than before, his heart having lifted.

"I'd lecture you for making me so miserable, but I'm just so glad to have you back that it's not worth it."

And truly he felt a twinge of resentment deep down, but he buried it as deep as he possibly could, refusing to let it come between him and his rekindled joy. Moving to stand next to her, he leaned into her side and inhaled again, this time taking the time to try and sort out what all she smelled of. She looked like she wanted to tell him a long story, so he figured he might as well open the door and get her started talking.

"I love you, ya' know? Whatever your story is, I promise not to judge you for leaving. All that matters is that you're here now."

He broke away from her long enough to retrieve the rabbit he had dropped and then returned to her side, a goofy grin hidden by the rabbit as he tilted his head in an offer to her. And with that, he reclined on his haunches, facing the pool of water and nuzzling into her after laying the rabbit on the ground, waiting for her to spill out the story of her adventures away from Blossom.
