aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The timberess slowed exited the lake – after Leila had shown her the site, Hellene had frequented it often, especially on the hottest days. It was the easiest way to cool down, not to mention the fae had been able to practice her fishing skills. Though she had missed a few of the swimmers and had gotten soaked in the process, she had finally become as adept as fishing as she had once been when it had just been her and her sister. As the last of her paws left the watery body, her form shook out, sending water droplets all over the soft silt earth that lined the entire lake. She had been contemplating stretching out on the beach and allowing the soft rays of the sun to warm and dry her coat, basking in its heat as her stomach slowly digested its full meal, but a howl reached her auds causing her pause. She knew who it was exactly – the Alpha, Kalgalath. Her auds pinned themselves – her nap would have to wait.

Hellene started her approach toward the pack clearing slowly, not wanting to pull a muscle so soon after a meal. As her bodice warmed, her pace increased until she was comfortably loping through the terra, cautiously navigating the land. She had been foolish, spending most of her time at the lake rather than exploring the rest of the terra, so her paws didn’t know the land well enough to travel through it any faster. Still, she did not want to travel any slower. Kalgalath already did not particularly like her or trust her, so it would not help her cause any if she was the last wolf to arrive to the pack meeting that he had called.

Finally, she made her way to the meadow where the pack meeting was apparently being called to order – her way was neither the shortest, nor the straightest, but it was the best she could do at the moment. Her eyes scanned the wolves who had already arrived. She was pleasantly surprised that she was not the last to arrive. Though many of the pack members had arrived, neither the pup named Tyson nor Kong was present. There were a few other wolves missing, but they were not ones who she knew. The fae slowly approached the group with her gaze downward, though her tail was not curled underneath her this time. A smile crept its way onto her maw as she saw both Khaleesi and Destan, the two pups whose presence she had come to enjoy so much. Who she had been thinking about so much. Hellene slid between the two pups, gently nudging each of them with her nose before addressing the Alpha. “Hello, Kal.” The fae dipped her head and greeting. “I apologize if I am late.” Her amber hued orbs had met the brute’s icy gaze when she had addressed him, noting the fae who stood interestingly close to him, before lowering her gaze to the two pups. “Hello Destan. Hello Khaleesi. I… I would like to speak with you two when we have a moment. About something… important.” Hellene felt butterflies beginning to squander around in her belly at what she was planning on asking the two pups. Asking them to join her family. She didn’t know if either of them even wanted a mother, but she wanted pups. She would leave it up to them.
