Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

I did not know how many resided within the borders. Their scents mingled and while I could stick around and study the markers within my walls, I preferred that they all came to me. I wanted to get a good look at them, get a sense of them and them of me before I even attempt to whip this ship into motion. Did I think it would be easy? No, but then nothing in life was. I did however think that they would give me the respect I deserved as pack leader. I was leader first then friend. I was alpha and defender before packmate and it would do them well to acknowledge that.
Ears perk as the first of them came forward. Her form is graceful, her shimmering white pelt holding traces of silvery gray. It kissed her spine all the way down and caressed her hips before tickling the tips of her hind legs. She was a beauty as she fixed me with bright citrine depths and I was not oblivious to the blazing ring of azure that encircled her pupil. She would have to be guarded well for her beauty would make her a target and if her build was any indication she would not be well off in the battle department. She settles and I begin to move forward, lips quirking at her sudden change in posture, her chest puffing up like a lion. Cute. Yet I did not falter in step as I take her muzzle, taking great care not to hurt her but apply just enough pressure that her instinctual self would recognize me for who I am. We have became more civilized as of late but deep down rules are etched into our wolven soul. She should have remained still, relaxing even but she did neither, instead snorting her indignation into my open mouth. My eyes narrow as her curt words reach my ears. I was in the process of moving away but instead I turn, eyes glowering as I peered into her smirking face. Any other time I would have ignored her, but as new leader there was no time for jest; at least at the present moment.
I allow my lip to rise, showing her my canine as a low growl creeps up my throat and out in my tone of voice. ”D’mani if you would like to continue walking the borders instead of being chased over them I would recommend that you change your attitude and soon.” It is all that I say for another has arrived and I must tend to her. Or rather them as their scent washes me and immediately calms the raised hackles that I didn’t even know had risen. My family. I back off as she my ebony queen moves forward, introducing herself to the whelp before embracing me. I take a moment to inhale her scent, pressing my tongue against her body in a quick kiss before pulling away. I had intended to remain sitting as close to her as possible but my son had other plans. Squirming his little body in between ours and looking quite pleased with himself. ”Did you see many things Ravenwing during your travel?” I ask him, leveling my mate with a pointed stare. I had told her to wait within my sister’s pack while I got things settled and she disobeyed. But as I looked into those oceanic depths I could only smile.
A smile that is cut short as a bumbling pup enters the meeting, a greeting for miss D’mani leaving his lips. I was delighted to see youth and my tail thumps just once as he paws her tail. Then my eye moves to his accompanist a she wolf with the sweetest energy. Her tones were brilliant and very much multihued, the pup just the same yet not as bright. The pup speaks again, his excited voice introducing the pair. I nod, listening to her words as I began to approach her, taking her maw as I had done D’mani. She instantly stiffened, squeaking out her protest and causing me to hold her for a few moments longer, totally ignoring the pup. My mind was focused on the newest male arrival, grateful that I would not head a pack full of females. My excitement fades dramatically as soon as he speaks. Ears instantly perks, eyes regaining that fire from earlier that Rhoe had managed to put out. Okay D’mani was one thing but this was getting to be a tad much. Did no one respect the fact that I knew not of any of them and that I saw them all as either family/pack or as an enemy? The only thing I wanted was to make sure that they knew my position and that they respected it, and then later we could become friends. He continues to ramble, my paws leaving Everchime and slowly I approach him, my entire manner changing from calm to irritated, to down right anger. ”Yes, my name is a unique one is it not as you seem so fit to point out. I assure you though that I have no use for tall tales and I am not impressed with your spiel. I however do feel as though you are a little to assure of yourself in this moment especially since I determine whether or not you stay in this pack. I care not if you do not desire to attempt to throw me to the ground and create an uprising you will give me the proper respect or you can take your smooth talking tail over the border with miss D’mani there. Now tell me, am I speaking false now?” My words are laced with threat, my posture rigid as I now posture before him, tail curling over my back, hackles risen, head slightly lowered as I glare into his eyes.
I do not know of his heritage, that he too feels that urge that drove me to fight for this pack. If I did it would soften my view but it would not change a thing. He was not ruler in this pack and he would do well to remember himself like I had to. Yet that is until he continues, a spark of recognition igniting in his glowering gaze. A royal by all accounts. ”It would seem academics would be your strong point.” It is all I say for my mind is turning over the information he has provided. It is clear that he has a ruling streak within him and he would do well in a position of power however to give it him too soon would not bode well. He must earn it, prove that indeed his mind is great. Besides by doing so will in turn learn Pan to give me the respect I deserve and to watch his candied tongue in the future unless he is given permission to sprout off things that might be misconstrued as rudeness.
Turning from the golden boy I turn my eyes upon the newest arrival, noting that his pelt did not hold the scent of the pack. The white male with the striking eyes spoke, his tongue different and intriguing. My posture relaxes some now that I am no longer facing Pan down and I look over the male. He was strong and able bodied. ”Yes, it would seem that no one here has felt jaws around their maw before. Would they rather I force them belly up and clamp my mouth upon their throat?” I speak with a jaded edge, loud so that the pack will know what other option they had in my eyes. We were a pack and if they felt squeamish with a little clamp then the next few years will be extremely uncomfortable for them. ”Welcome Aether.” And with that I clamp my jaws around his maw just like I did the rest.
Soft steps draws my eye as a rather striking yet hesitant wolfess shows herself. She had the air of a Beloved or Dame, just as Everchime. However Everchime seemed a little more sure of herself than the blue lady before me. She speaks, introducing herself as Alana and I did my head, taking in her words as I had the rest. With her I am gentle as I take her muzzle, clear that she is flighty yet I sense a stronger wolf hidden deep within her. One that I will pull free from the soft chains that bind it. If I have my way she will have the confidence to speak her mind like the infuriating golden male.
And then the last arrives, a pup hot on her tail. I take her muzzle before she can speak, already tired of the way others reacted to this mild display. Yet when she backed away I sat, tail curling around me as she speaks, oblivious to the pup that is just now making his way into the meeting. ”It would seem that one son did not want to wait until you returned.” A deep chuckle leaves my throat as I listen to the boy, casting a loving look toward my own son as he sat beside his mother. Yet his words causes my face to frown. ”What is it that he says? I do not know such a language.” I ask his mother while I lower my body to the ground, my belly firm against the earth. ”Is that so Lamar? Well you shall one day, but right now you need to focus on being a pup and growing up strong like her. Can you do that for me? By the way I am Silvertongue.” My voice is soft, showing a gentle side to the pup before sitting back up. ”Okay all, is there any one else that should be here but are not?”
